This is the last post for a while I PROMISE!! Haha sorry life has just been going by so fast! Yesterday I got to go snowboarding at Pomerelle. What an awesome hill, it's so much better (and bigger) then Kelleys, and cheaper. It's closer then Targhee too! I was so afraid I wouldn't know how to do anything anymore but it went so well! Sorry about all the exclamation marks but I was so pumped. Here's the herd that came along.  I'm so excited for this season to start I just can't wait.

Merry Christmas!!!

This Christmas really snuck up on me. And because I worked retail earlier this year I didn't shop at ALL for the whole holiday season because all of my presents were already bought! I'd like to say I got tons of cool stuff but most of my presents were practical. I got a clipper set ( I needed a new one REALLY badly) and I no longer have to pay my car rent. Which means I can save that money for school in April. Haha Merry Christmas! But it was a good one. I liked being with my family, I just wish there had been more snow. I love this season and HATE when it ends. My favorite memories are probably sleeping on the couch by the tree when I was about 10, I just always remember feeling warm and safe. Now that I'm older I realize it was one of those small moments that the Lord gives us to understand his love for us. What a great holiday!

Music!!!

I love music, just about every kind. Here is a list of songs that I have been listening to a LOT lately. Please no complaints about songs that have been over played. Haha I NEVER listen to the radio, and when I do its AM radio (kind of embarrassing). I only listen to what I want to listen to when I want to listen to it thanks to my Ipod.

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

Starlight and Satellite I've had for a while but recently I've become rather obsessed. This means I will listen to them several times in a row (like 10) just because.

The song Sic Transit Gloria was shown to my by a good friend this summer. To put it bluntly the lyrics are racey. When he first showed it to me he was singing along. I didn't know him very well at the time and I remeber being like "what is he trying to say?" haha. Since then I have learned that Kyle is just awesome like that, I love you!

As for the Lady Gaga song I love her too!! If I was a crazy pop artist with no morals I would BE her. I love the crazy makeup and all of her hair. I only put one of her songs on here but really I love just about all of them. I'm pretty sure most of you hate Poker Face, Just Dance, Love Game, and Paparazzi or have heard them too many times, so for you I restrained myself.

Avatar

I got to see this movie twice this week. Unfortunately both times were 10:30 to about 1:30 am, whew staying up that late gets rough. Can I just say AMAZING picture and graphics, not to mention some wonderful imaginations!

Having said that, what a load of garbage. James Cameron is a political pile! I'm so over all of the environmental movies. Then you had the demonization of "man-kind" in general but most especially white men and armed forces. What a joke. I'm not going to the movies to get brainwashed Mr. Cameron but thanks anyways.

Once again something that could have been thoroughly amazing was ruined by some one trying to force feed me their liberal progressive ideas. Sorry it just had to be said.

+ good stuff +

Let's be positive.   Last weekend I sang a solo at our ward brunch and I sang a solo in sacrament today. WHEW! I was ShAkInG like a leaf, but I think it went really well and I got lots of good feed back. I was really proud of myself for putting myself out there like that I've been doing a lot better. I gave a talk at my singles branch last Sunday (I'm playing the fence haha), and was called to be a nursery chorister at my home ward. I think I'm going to continue going to my home ward. I enjoy the family atmosphere and I like being with adults, not people who think they are adults.
Many of you have already heard this but I was accepted to BYU-I, it wasn't my first choice but I'm really excited. I'm just so glad that my life is finally starting to move along. Including dating, but I don't want to say anything about that JUST yet haha I wouldn't want to ruin my luck ;) let's just say I'm liking a few people and it's looking hopeful.

Things at work are going well too (at all 3 jobs). At the salon I just wish I had more clients, if I did I would be making bank, it's a work in progress. I've started to nanny occasionally for another lady who is the first ladies sister in-law (small world). I love that as well and I am still working for the school district. I have had several requests recently which is great because then I know that they like me. Also I got my business cards in the mail, and they look awesome I am so excited. I put my hair blog in the bottom corner so that people can see examples of what I have done.

My two blogs are connected so now I'm thinking I should probably go Private. You guys can tell me what you think but I can't decide if I should just start a new blog or if I should go private.

I *WiSh*

Today I took my car into the Toyota dealership to get the oil and some services done. It took FOREVER! In order to not die of boredom I got up the courage to ask a salesmen to let me test drive a Venza. I felt bad because it was just to entertain myself and I want one! They are so cool I've been drooling over them since they came out a little over a year ago. It had the metallic red finish, V6, back up camera, heated leather, 4WD, and everything else. That car is Posh! My dad makes fun of me all the time because it's just a nice looking station wagon, oh well. It's about 3 1/2 times what I could afford anyways, but a girl can dream right?

100%

Tithing settlement is one of my most favorite meetings I have every year. I love being able to go in and say that I paid "ALL" of my tithes in full. It's nice to know that God gives us some freebies. I remember really struggling with my tithing as a young kid. Over the years I was shown very plainly that EVERY TIME (without fail) if I would just pay my tithing generously and with a happy heart I would get what I needed. Obviously I am not rich but I have what I need and I have always been able to make ends meet.

While I was waiting to talk with the bishop I was looking over my fasts and tithe offerings and I realized I made twice as much as I did last year! That was a good feeling. This last year was rough and I don't think I had a steady job for more then 6 months of it, too much going on. All I can say is that the Lord has really blessed me and I am so thankful for my cosmetology license. I have worked half as hard and half as often as I did last year and I made twice as much, that's a good trade. I LoVe what I do, it's one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Warranty

About 2 weeks ago I opened my cell phone and noticed the hinge was bulging. By the end of that day the right side

was TOTALLY broken. What a pain in the butt right? And of corse I was just about exactly a year into my contract, which meant a broken phone for the next year. Yeah that wasn't going to work. So I began to look into my options. This weekend I went to the Verizon store and got the BEST news I have EVER gotten in a situation like this. Apparently the LG model I had was defective and they had so many breaking that it was under warranty for 14 months. Which meant a new phone for Kari, Frick yes haha!! I just had to share that I was so happy! Every time I've had a phone break they have basically told me tuff luck so I took a picture of my broken phone right before they took it from me. I could just see the lady's face while I took a picture of my broken phone so I could blog about it, "weirdo".

Having a Moment

Just as a disclaimer this post may make no sense and may be extremly vauge, consider yourself warned. It's been a while since I was on here to vent but lately I have been having what I like to call Moments. My whole day will go just fine no one will be rude and nothing too bad or out of the ordinary will happen. Then just after I go to bed I will start to feel absolutely miserable. My mind will start stewing over anything and everything that I might have said or done that was "stupid" (I can't think of a better word). We all are our own harshest critics right? I will find myself laying in bed for HOURS sometimes just obsessing over little nothings that happened that day or anytime recently. It's like I can't shut my brain down and it won't stop talking!

Of corse you all know that I have declared this year as my year to learn paitence. Can I just say I think I'm getting worse? Ugh, not even sure how that's possible but whatever. I just find myself either wishing I had followed an impulse or wishing I hadn't, way to often. It seems like when I don't follow them I regret it because I find out later that it would have been worth it. Or when I do follow them I find myself in a situation where I get hurt, ouch. I just can't get over how intense my feelings get as soon as I'm alone and my brain can start wandering.

My solutions thus far have been to A. Sleep/ nap or B. Go out and be with people. The first one does wonders if I can get myself to sleep but we all know that sleeping too much is NOT a solution to anything. However in my defense it's so nice to not have to think and have everthing shutdown, no more thoughts. My second option is obviously the better of the two. Maybe that's why I like doing hair so much. I like to do things for people that make them happy. Everyone (including men) have to admit that getting your hair done feels pretty darn good. Not only that but then I can listen to their problems and not mine. Going along with that I find myself with my Mom ALL the time. I just like being with other people. Also it helps that my Mom is like a constant beam of sunshine with a breath of fresh air. I love her so much.

Anyways I guess that's why people aren't supposed to be alone. When you're alone you are weak, we are all better off with someone around us (almost always). It would just be nice to have some one besides my poor family to vent to sometimes. But I have a hard time sharing specifics with people because most of the time I just need to be angry or irritated for a while and then it's over. This whole year I feel like I have had to wait for everything I want, and it's not like they are all selfish things. Then it seems like too often I either don't get what it was I wanted at all or it's in such a timely matter I don't even want it anymore. Can't a person have what they want when they want it just once in a while?! That's the question I find myself asking all the time. If you have read this far bless your soul, I'm just ranting about nothing. But as usual I feel better having put some of my tangled thoughts into words.

6 Months

Colin is 6 months old! The first two pictures of him are his 5 month ones. When I first saw his pictures they immediately reminded me of the ones of me. So I posted them together we are such cute babies! Colin's family is so lucky he's cute haha even if he doesn't sleep at night.

We are all smiles

baby blue eyes
Baby grins
Sucking on our lips

This is what his family gets to look forward to this Christmas. This is my "what? I wasn't going to take the ornamant off the tree, I just want to touch it a little".

Luck? I think not

I managed to drag out my job at the retail store almost 3 months before I started hitting the streets for hair jobs again. As you all know I have been attending my family ward, most of this year. Occasionally I will go to YSA for FHE, activities and of corse institute. But this last Sunday I met up with a gal I had gone to school with and the rest is History. I got another job! Hah I couldn't even believe it once again it just fell into my lap, and I was hired on the spot. I went in all dressed nice with a resume and she didn't even interview me. At first I was thinking "wow how lucky am I?!" and then I was like that is NOT luck. I almost NEVER go to the singles branch for church and the one Sunday (since August?) I decide to go with David, 3 other branches meet with our branch and it just so happens that my friend is in one of those branches. Once again blessed beyond belief.
Also I am going to start a blog with the hair that I do/ have done on it so I can let everyone see
my skills. Hopefully that will help me obtain a much needed clientele. This job is booth rent I'm super nervous because I have to buy all my supplies before I can do any hair. If any of you want to come and see me the info is on facebook and I would LOVE to have you come in and say hi! The salon is a bit of a spa as well so they offer pedicures, tanning, facials the whole deal and it's soooo cute! Here's a doll head I did in school. I called it the Emo-Cruella Devil haha the picture sucks because I took it with my cell phone but it was some AwEsOmE hair!

Shoot

The other day I was talking with a friend at work, we were discussing jeans. I needed a new pair and I'm too small for several pairs I used to wear! I weigh 118 I haven't weighed that in 2 years, almost what I was in high school (exciting!). She convinced me to look at a certain store and try to buy a pair of (brace yourself) skinny jeans. But in my defense I don't think they are really "skinny" jeans but they are MUCH tighter on the shin then my others, and they taper in at the bottom. You can tell me what you think....

Itouch

Remeber when I said I'd been making new friends? Well I have been! And can I just say they are awesome. I describe the neighborhood I live in "well off" and that would be a modest but appropriate way to put it. Now because of this I have benifited on several occassions (which means they must actually like me beacause my "toys" aren't nearly as cool). One of my friends recently got an iphone and he told me he would sell me his ipod touch, for half of what I paid for my nano. So I got it! This thing is sooo cool! It's like a mini laptop and minus being able to make phone calls it's just as cool as the iphone! And when I play bejeweled it's not microscopic like my cell phone :) That's all I just had to brag a little. All this time I thought I wanted an apple laptop and all I needed was this. Oh and I made this blogpost on it.

Dam

This year I've been trying my best to do things I wouldn't have been able to do because I wasn't single and that I would have normally not done because I was afraid, lazy, etc. I wasn't going to post this until January because it's a goal but I've been thinking about it so much lately that I can't help myself. This summer I want to run the Teton Dam marathon. Haha here are my disclaimers, no I'm not going to try to place, and no I am NOT an amazing runner. I've been working on it at the gym and so far my best is 6.1 miles in an hour and about 10 min.

Normally I would NEVER want to run a marathon but I have decided I really want to do this one, just to say I have. Everyone I have talked about it with immediatly says "oh that one is really hard!" which usually would defer me but this time it's made me want to do it more ( I think I've grown to like challenges, weird). I know Kira has talked about running recently but I would just like to let anyone who wants to try it with me know that I would love company.

Adventures in Babysitting

My last day babysitting was Wednesday. I was supposed to leave in the afternoon but their aunt ended up needing more time so I stayed. Those kids were a handful but soooo fun! I can't wait to have my own kids, even with as crazy as everything was haha I am in no way detoured in wanting a big family just like it.
We did some fun stuff. On Monday and Tuesday I took the two youngest boys to the library. That was way fun. My mom used to take me when I was little and I always enjoyed it. We read the spooky old tree twice! I ran lunches, field trip money and other forgotten things to the school for the kids. Another thing I did with the 2 younger boys was sing. My Grandma and my mom used to sing songs to keep our minds distracted while they did all kinds of things (like make lunch or clean etc). While making juice one day the boys were getting wiggly so I took the primary song "singing a song is fun to do" and changed it to "making our juice is fun to do" haha. It worked like a charm! the boys loved it and it caught their attention long enough for me to finish the juice and lunch.

I'd have to say one of the best things that happened was on Wednesday. It was becoming dinner time and I had just finished cleaning up the kitchen again. So I decided to take the boys (all 6 of them) out to eat. Haha that was crazy! I had boys spilling water cups and making messes with in minutes of sitting down. Initially I was planning on taking them to a fast food place, but upon further thought the idea of everyone running amuck to get their own drinks, condiments, etc was just too much. So a sit down restaurant it was. Our poor waitress did such a good job though! Every time she came back around the boys were asking for some thing. I especially liked the fights over the free scones phrases like "hey he got two" and "I didn't get one!', I'm like "boys they are free you can eat them until you explode, trust me everyone will get one it's going to be OK". I still hope we tipped her ok she did a good job.
By far the best moment had to be right before we got ready to leave. The second to youngest boy (his name is Paul and he is 4) got eating too fast and his older brother had to take him to the bathroom to spit out his food so he wouldn't choke. On the way back Paul saw a hostess taking a chair to the banquet room, and decided to yell "JUMP!". At that moment he jumped onto the chair the girl was carrying and hung there. HAHAHA wow it was sooo funny the poor hostess was laughing but you could also tell that she was very much surprised be her new passenger. And of course all the other boys were giggling like crazy. It was a good meal. Dinner AND a show, for no extra cost.

October Conference

Wow all I can say is wow. Between this conference and April's I have cultivated such a wonderful testimony of it. When Jeffery Holland talked about the Book of Mormon my eyes were watering up the entire time. That testament couldn't have come at a better time. I've been working on my own personal testimony of the Book of Mormon. For as many trials I feel like I have over come this year I still can't believe how quickly and exactly God answers prayers, most especially my own. I've read the scriptures but I never really read them for my own personal testimony. I started reading back in August and my understanding has increased 100 fold.

Here are some of my favorite scriptures I have found while reading recently.

Mosiah 23:21
Nevertheless the Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he triet their patience and their faith.

Alma 7:23
And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times.

Alma 39:14
Seek not after riches nor the vail things of this world; for behold you cannot carry them with you.
~I've been under lining patience, endure to the end, and other similar statements as I read. I've been trying my best to learn to be more patient and long suffering in my life it is probably one of my biggest difficulties.

Another thing that stood out to me was from The Family: A Proclamation to the World. "We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God." That phrase hit me so hard. Not just from my own personal experiences with other people's agency but people from my mom's family as well. It reminded me of another scripture in Alma 39:8 But Behold, ye cannot hid your crimes from God; and except ye repent they will stand as a testimony against you at the last day. I think some times we forget that we need to always be openly apologetic about our sins.

Anyways I'm so thankful for the gospel and once again conference was great I know they speak with authority and the spirit.

Happy Meals

This will most likely be my last blog for the month. I'm going to be working for a lady in my ward for about a week watching her kids. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to post again but I just thought I would write one last time. I've been so busy working this month. I've been cutting hair as well. I love that! It's like being able to talk to someone and then get paid. Not only that but everytime I turn around someone wants me to do their hair. It's such a blessing and it's a great way to save money! I love always having cash in my pocket and in my bank account. At this rate I'll be paying for school in cash.

Today when I worked for the lady in my ward, she had me take her two youngest boys and their little friend to go get happy meals while she ran errands. The main reason was to get her youngest used to me haha and to have him associate me with having fun. That way when she leaves hopefully he will be ok with me watching him. It was a fun time I squeezed 3 car seats into my car (had to push a little bit to close the door but it worked). The boys all got hot wheels cars and played in the playland.
They were so cute and so well behaved. I love how the boy on the right has as many french fries in his little mouth as he could fit haha I was waiting to have him choke bleh that's just what I needed. When it was time to go I got some cookies and told them they could have them on the way home. The older boy could reach the window in my car and now I have cookie on the widown and handle haha and right when we got to the house he threw his car out the window lol wow good times. The other thing I'm pretty happy about right now is that my driving record no longer has a single ticket on it! Hurray I'm 3 years out, and I haven't been pulled over in over a year. I'm sure my parents appreiciate that as well. I guess that's all till October :)

Progress and Pride & Prejudice

I've got about a third of my Christmas throw done. Hurray! I ironed and cut up all the pieces last week, so that I could sew this week. It will be an awesome blanket but this is the first time I have had something besides just blocks to cut out and sew so the seems are just a leeeetle off. Haha oh well I'll get better I'm sure. It will have edging on the sides and I think I want to add another row to the bottom to make sure that it will cover toes with room to spare :) extra cozy. This Sunday and last I watched Pride and Prejudice while I worked. Can I just say WOW I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that show! I have always been a hopeless romantic. I hadn't even seen it till August of this year. I was hanging out with some friends and one of the guys refrenced it and I was like "huh?".
I had heard about it seen parts (more like seconds) of the Mormon version but had never really seen it. I knew nothing about the storyline or anthing else. He then continued to tell me "You're not a 'real girl until you've seen Pride and Prejudice". So about a week later I went over to his house and watched it with his brother and him. Haha and in their words they made a "real women" out of me. Good good times. Between the language like "violent affections" and the suspense of all the couples I just die. If only things were that fun in real life. One of the best and worse parts is how Mr. Darcy and Ms. Bennett never kiss till the absolute end of the movie. It's so refreshing unlike current movies that are filled with full on everything from start to finish.
Not only that but it's so fun to talk about with other girls haha just one more chick flick to anlyze. Just as a side note to one of my friends I spoke to about this recently I paid extra attention to Mr. Darcy this last time and I'm going to agree with you he is FINE. I'm not a super fan of Colin Firth but in this movie I am! I'm usually more of a blue eyed blondish guy fan, but his brown eyes and hair are just fine the way they are.

Football

Brandon is playing football this year! I can't believe how tall he is. I'm still taller then the boy but only by 2 inches (if that). He's playing for Eagle Rock, the family all went to watch his game on Saturday morning at the Skyline field. He is new to the sport so the coaches don't usually play him until their first string is completely winded (irritating but I guess everyone has to do their time) but he does a great job at holding his opponents. He plays defensive line, and his team is completely undefeated so far this year. Me and the Family sitting in the lovely September sun. It was so BEAUTIFUL on Saturday perfect day for game watching.
Grandma Chris came to the game with Grandpa Jerry. Love this lady!
This is just Jordan and I making faces while we wait at half time. I can't lie the boys still drive me nuts sometimes but they are sooooo cool! Then later that evening while I fixed Grandma's hair I listened to the BYU game and they lost against Florida it was sad.

Ah Man

I have a couple "ah man" things to post to start with I think I'll be sad about the end of summer. Can anyone believe it's really over? I am so disappointed it's been so amazing this year. And aside from temperate days and cool walks there is very little to do in Fall. I'm not a fan of transitional seasons i.e.- fall and spring. I love summer and winter there's so much more to do.

My second "ah man" would have to be my inability to schedule my salon job into my other jobs. In order to take a prolonged assignment from one of my jobs I would have found myself without my salon job, because they would only give me 3 days off (I needed about 9). So for the time being I no longer work there (grrrr) my last day was Saturday. On the bright side my manager liked me so much that she said if I didn't reapply at the beginning of October she would be mad at me.

And the last "ah man" is college has started for just about all of my friends. Now I'm lonely while they all go off to school. I am getting more and more excited about school for me even if it's still several months away. Today I filled out most of my application and all I have left is to get my bishop's approval and seminary records. I am seriously so scared to go back to school! It was so crazy because my heart was racing while I filled out my application. Whew change is scary, you would think after everything that has happened this year I would be better at it, well I'm not.
Finally this is what I did on labor day after I worked all morning. Scooter ride! Ryan and Kyle came with me and we rode around my neighborhood till midnight. Man it was so cold but we still had good times.
He's either really excited or on drugs haha jk.
Lovely Kyle
Ryan and me in our super hot jackets they make us look beefy
Kyle and I are pretty much hot, got to love the fat head helmet look
Sometimes I get angry at Kyle Grrrr!
this is my sexy helmet hair and Ryan wants some

Fun-stuff Random style

Here's Gabby's hair I did for her very pretty

our hot ipod's
I love my music

Our Red slushy tongues
We went on a Sunday drive

Happy Birthday Kyle!!

On the 26th of August was Kyle's birthday! He is one of my good friends I love him so much! We went jetskiing to celebrate and he had his friends there. I love being able to go to these kinds of social get togethers they are always so fun. Here are three things I love about Kyle #1 He's always so honest haha even if it's not really what you want to hear. #2 When he laughs I can't help but giggle it's so contagious! #3 He is an amazining conversationlist. It's nice to be able to talk to someone who has something worthwhile to say. I hate feeling like I'm filling up empty space in conversations. In short he's awesome. Happy Birthday Kyle!

Hurray for being employed!

Just in case you haven't heard I have two new jobs! Hurray! I'm still employed at the school district but now I have 2 more jobs to add to that (I know it's a little crazy). I finally got a job in hair, not my first choice but it'll work. It's been really slow the last couple of days but I've still have managed to make a several dollars more an hour after you add my tips to my base pay so that's good. My other job is in retail again. I'm not saying where any of these are due to privacy. But all you who have wanted to come see me at the salon feel free to facebook me and I'll give you the 411. As for the retail job I work there often enough I'm sure I'll run into you guys sometime. I work all morning/ afternoon at the salon and then close at the other job. Wow it's going to be busy, or rather it's been busy. I might quite the retail job so I can work at the school district more but we'll see.

I also think I will be going back to school. I know I've mentioned that on here before (back in March... ish?) but this time unless somthing seriously stops me it's going to happen. It's so weird to think that I've been thinking about going to Provo for a little over 3 years now! My dad tried to get me to go to the Paul Mitchell school in SLC right after I graduated and I should have, but other "things" made me feel like I had to stay. I'm really scared but I'm also really excited it will be good for me.
