I Push Little Children

That's right I'm a pusher. A week or so ago we attended a little carnival hosted by the swanky Upper Arlington Library and I pushed a little boy AND got in trouble. The library is pretty small and it has a super nice little park right by it. Upper Arlington is beautiful.
Upon arrival to the carnival festivities I decided to have Davie participate in the book walk in hopes of winning him a free book. When the music ended the boy (about 7 years old?) in front of us just kind of stood there, which left us between numbers. So I started pushing (it was more than tapping but less than pushing) him, nothing more than what I would do to Davie,  and saying "hey keep going" mostly to get his attention. He was in total La-La land, he didn't move or even acknowledge that I was talking to him let alone tapping him to move forward. I'll admit that maybe I was a TINY bit over zealous (no sarcasm that's just me trying to be understanding of what happened next), but his mom immediately came over to me and said "Hey we don't need to push"..... I barely got out a reply it was something like "I wasn't pushing... (trail off).
I was seriously so shocked, but mostly annoyed. If I saw someone doing what I was doing to this little boy to Davie my first reaction would have been to prompt Davie to move forward not poo-poo the parent for trying to get his attention. Whatever people. (eye roll)

So yea, that was interesting. Other than that the night was lots of fun, free prizes, games, Davie ate 2 dum dums and 2 (maybe 3 I can't remember) popsicles. I love that I have free time to a) Know activities like this are even happening and b) ACTUALLY be able to attend. Did I mention David was there?! It was awesome. I wish I had some pictures, but I was trying to just enjoy the evening. Did I mention the weather was soooo nice? I was worried because the whole day had been really hot. Yuck. Enjoy these ones from a couple of days before.

Hanging out at the park on a completely different day.

Davie climbed all the way up to this slide and went down by himself. He is fearless.

David is always helping him do more complicated parts of the playground.

Ugh, David and his socks & sandals. I do what I can people.

Cali- To the Beach

Rather than wait to get the pictures from our night at Shrek the musical together I will just skip to the next day. I decided not to take my camera that night because that way I didn't have to carry it around :)
So the next day was a free day and we all got to do whatever we wanted!
David eating an apple for breakfast. Which is pretty darn good considering that our hotel's idea of a main breakfast staple was doughnuts.... ugghh don't even get me started haha the only other choice was un-packaged cereal so it was stale, toast, little cheese cubes, coffee and waffles. I was pretty hungry by lunch everyday we were there.

So we were in Cali... where would we go if we had free time??
We went to the BEACH of course!
Such a pretty day

Watching the surf
the water was COLD!
Haha brrrr! This was when I decided I wouldn't actually swim, I just watched David.

Not the best picture, but it IS in front of the ocean ;) that makes it worth sharing
The little dot by the pier is David.
Chilin' on the beach, GREAT day to do it! It wasn't scorching hot or too cold. Lazy beach day, ahhhh.
HUGE seagulls that kept acting like I had food and getting to close for comfort, haha SCARY!!

The day ended with me getting a SUPER awesome bright purple purse, eating at Panera (my FAV!) and doing some more hanging out at the hotel with David's fam. At one point while I (and David maybe even more than myself) was diligently looking for that prefect purple purse with 3 inside pockets and one zippered one, I looked over and saw David carrying 3 or 4 possible purses on his arm. It made me giggle but I love that he cared so much and got so involved, VERY man-ly AND sweet. Looking back I should have taken a picture of him being so sweet because I easily could have but I didn't :(
This purse is one of my MOST favorite ones I have probably EVER had! And I get SOOOO many compliments, so really David did a great job.
cute little side pockets. Oh and I won the competition to get the lowest price for an item. The lady was saying $28 and I paid $25. It was a good deal.

Oh yea and hanging out at the hotel may have but most certainly include a small "Do you know what it feels like?" (you know the ping-pong song by Enrique) dance/ singing party! Haha THAT was one of the best things I have ever experienced with David's family hahaha AWESOME.

Trip to Cali- Day Uno, Dos

This is our trip to Cali to go see Shrek. Some of you out there might think that after literally driving across the country to see Colin and then driving to Idaho we might have had our fair share of car trips for... ever. To you I say NO WAY! Haha jk, with all this driving I have found that I am NO road warrior but I will do it if it means I get to go see people and places I want to see without breaking the bank. Also since we drove with Davids family in two cars I never had to take the wheel myself, what a relief! Thank you to those of you who did drive because I don't know if I could have. I don't have any pictures from our first day, mainly because not much happened, but we did stay in Sin City and we got there LATE. This is basically what it looked like when we rolled into town at 11pm something.
Only we weren't in a plane so the buildings were above us

Our first stop the next day was Baker California. Where we saw some pretty crazy stuff.
Two aliens in this car, but I don't think you can see them.
Here is a better look. If you look really close they had two "baby" aliens in the back seat.... yuck haha I'm not an alien fan.
Lauren
Me, what a face.
Bunny ears
trying to see if maybe we could get into the space ship, it didn't work. Did I mention why we stopped there in the first place? To get some of this....
I thought it was funny and we almost got some but it was plenty spendy. For miles and miles there were HUGE billboards that said "Alien Jerky" that is how we knew when to stop.
Later that evening we checked into our hotel rooms and hit the town. We got to see Harry Potter #7 part two. Most of our group was lucky enough to have seen the premier but David and I hadn't so we were excited. Not only that but we got to see it at the O so famous Chinese theatre.

And so did David's Mom! Haha love that lady :)
As you can see we may have had a little too much fun. There were people watching us pose in front of this poster by the time we finally left haha.

Oh yeah and the reason why we came in the first place. To see Shrek. We didn't see Shrek that night though that is the next day.

We are going to use these pictures in Brian's reception slide show
Model those clothes!
More to come.

Get Your Priorities Straight!

July was soooo busy. Not just like kind of busy I mean almost 100%, everyday busy. We had a neighborhood 4th of July party on the 2nd. The cousins came and stayed all weekend. Loved it my nickname for Warden get togethers like that is Warden-paloozah. David worked at the fireworks all that weekend. On the 5th we had a slip-n-slide and we all went to the BIG fireworks down by the river.

The next week David and I were still running around like chickens with our heads cut off because the Idaho Falls Temple was closed and we couldn't actually schedule anything until it was open again. The weekend right before our wedding we were getting ready for girls camp and not our actually sealing. Monday the 11th I realized that we hadn't rented David's vest and tux handkerchief yet so his Mom managed to pick that up for us while we were gone. Thank you Deidre!!

Then there was girls camp, we got sealed, we were treated to a hotel room and we got to party all night! The next day I cut my hair a little and got some highlights, I know what I said before about going natural, it isn't happening. Thursday was the day we got to clean up and pack and Friday we all left for California! We got back wednesday basically Thursday the next week rested up just a little. Some other stuff happened can't really remember specifics and then the next weekend was my baby shower. So in all that I managed the VERY last day of July to get out that one post about our sealing day. I had no clue it would take soooooo long! But I'm with you I really need to get my priorities straight and blog more. Here are some of the random pictures from this month that relate to nothing in particular but are worth looking at.
