Fall Conference 2013

This was our semi-annual P.F. Chang's general conference trip.
Obviously it was delicious and conference was amazing, as always.
Poor David was still cramming and studying for Step 2 so he only got to watch about 4 full talks. As for me Davie and I folded laundry while we watched. Last but not least yes I have recently-ish dyed my hair brown and no I do not particularly like it. However, I am determined to be patient while I slowly go back to my usual blonde color. That's about all.

Celebrating Her Brains Out

When my parents came to pick me up in Salt Lake it was my Mom's birthday week so we went to the Cheesecake factory, her favorite hair place, looked at furniture and whatever else she wanted to do. The woman parties hard! Haha jk Mom :)
The next day after we got home to Idaho Jordan was home for the evening so we went to Famous Dave's, cuz that is where Nana wanted to go. It was nice to go and eat with almost my whole family, except for Brandon because he was at his friend's house. The funny part is the next time we all went out to eat together Jordan had to work so it was the whole family except Jordan.
Uncle Jordan was keeping an eye out for Davie while I went and grabbed a few more things so we could leave.
Yummy lemonade
Davie likes to do this when he is in the carseat, it's pretty cute. Jordan kept asking me why Davie did it as if I knew, haha also funny. Also isn't Jordan so handsome?!
Just chillin' in his baby ride
Brother and Sister, Jordan with the goofy face.
Brother and Sister- nice smiles
There's that birthday lady!! Love these two!!!

Dinner With Davie

Davie and the hammer grandma Warden got him.
Davie with Grandpa and cousin Vincent, I think Vincent liked having a baby around and Davie would just stare at him so I think that means they are friends.
Davie discovers the water bottle.

Eating together
Vincent, Davie and Great Aunt Seneca
I love these pictures, this is Davie and his great grandma and grandpa Johnson. Grandpa Johnson can be a little grumpy at times but it was cute to see Davie look at him and pay so much close attention to him!

Hey! I like you.
Haha like this picture :) so cute

I know there is like 10 of these but I figured Grandma Johnson would like to see them.

The rest of the crew.

Lambert's Rolls

Lunch/ nap with Aunt Jessica
After Jessica was done with work for the day and we had looked at every inch of the Bass Pro shop we went to Lambert's for dinner. This is one of David's favorite restaurants because they throw hot yummy rolls at you every time you ask for one, David LOVES bread.
Waiting for food
Just spending some time with auntie Jessica
David and Bern enjoying rolls
me realizing how HOT they really are
Haha notice how my roll is not in my hands
Davie LOVES to eat bread too, he had his roll so gummed up that he was sucking on it like a binky. Which looked disgusting but was hilarious.
This is his shark attack on the roll, he shakes his head just like some kind of carnivore.
Next time I go I plan on getting a salad or something light so I can eat more rolls but also because the food was kind eh.
Roll thrower. He reminds me of Ichabod Crane on Disney's the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
Good buddies
After dinner we visited David's Mom's cousin. It's kind of confusing but family is family and it's nice to have so many in our corner of the country.
Davie rocking out with Uncle Bern.

It's From Just Eat it!

That is what one of the little nursery girls said, rather forcefully I might add, to David as she passed him a plastic carrot after he told he didn't like carrots that were from China (the carrot said made in China). This little girl will probably never remember being with us in Nursery but that little story will live on in our minds forever, really it was hilarious. I'm pretty sure she had heard her Mommy say that at least once.

Speaking of carrots, if any of you remember my post from WAY back about nutrition you will know that I don't particularly care for vegetables, at all. I love most dairy, fruits are tasty, bread is great, meat... ahh so good and of course my favorite part that little triangle at the top SWEETS!! But not so much with the vegetables. I like salad, artichokes, asparagus, carrots and broccoli (in that order) they are all pretty good, but I have been trying to add more. Eating mexican food is probably when I do my best with vegetables because I like the salsa and onions in my food.

One of the vegetables I have decided to give a chance was Kale. Its used at restaurants as garnish so I never realized people actually ate it. Turns out it is pretty darn tasty. We eat it as Kale chips.
This is how I do it-
wash & cut it up
(I cut out the middle stems because they are chewy and kind of gross)
toss it in olive oil
add some salt (I prefer garlic salt)
bake at 350 for about 10-15 min
Enjoy! If you do it right they have a pretty great crispy texture.

Well now that I am nursing and trying to lose some weight I have been attempting to change my ways. I started counting calories about a week ago and thus far have had some wOnDeRfUl results. The tough part for me is adding vegetables and protein that doesn't' have too much fat. Like cheese, I love cheese but it has so much darn fat in it and it is pretty high in calories too.

Some other friends to my counting calories is flavored sparkling water and diet soda. I have found that if I drink one 33.8 oz sparkling water along with one nalgene bottle of water together they put me at 65 oz a day. My question for all of you is what is your favorite random vegetable? Also if you have a favorite salsa recipe PLEASE share, we like ours but I am dying for a new one. Lastly I asked everyone on Facebook if they had any good bean eating ideas (besides eating them with tacos) and I didn't get very many replies so if you have a couple of good recipes that you like please share. Basically share your ideas

Day #6- Ice Cream

I have been having a difficult time trying to decide what to be thankful for today. A couple of reasons why- I'm not writing about any of these in order of importance, I have a million things to chose from and it's tough to pick and lastly I prefer for the thankful thing of the day to kind of come to me.

Today I am thankful for ice cream. The way I landed on that was I had it within an hour of coming home from church. It is one of my most favorite treats, which is a bit ironic because I tend to run on the cold side :) It is one of the few things that I almost NEVER turn down. I like just about every and any flavor as long as there is not mint chocolate or coconut in it. My love (obsession) for ice cream was directly inherited from my father and I like to eat mine the same way, with a little bit of milk stirred into it like a milkshake. You have to admit it is a versatile treat. Yup, today I was thankful for my big bowl of ice cream.

Toledo Ladies Night

On May 25th many of the ladies in our ward got together and had some food and fun at Granite City. The food was pretty tasty but next time I think we should go to Red Robin. My main reasons are #1 they serve Coke instead of Pepsi and of corse endless fries!! Anyways it was still fun and I was really excited about how many ladies managed to make it. It's going to be sad to see so many of the families who are going into their residencies leave. I guess that is just how it goes, there will always be people like David and I who are just starting and the group that is finishing up. All I can say is that David and I both love the ward we are in and have found it very easy to meet and make friends. Thank you ladies for making our first year so great!
One side of lovely ladies...
The other side of the lovely ladies in our ward
Dannielle and I
If you are wondering why I have a giant fuzzy circle by my ear it is because my earring was so shinny it had to be edited out.
A better picture of this side of the table
Smile
Just about everyone of these pictures has one person who's head is cut out or someone who is not paying attention, haha oh well.
Group photo!

April General Conference 2011

This general conference I only missed one session because of work, I was so excited! It seemed like all the sessions were extra good this year. I found myself all teary eyed  so many times I can't count, but I loved it. Our internet/ the internet feed was really spotty so for the second session we went to our church, which ended up being much better haha and getting to watch the talks without gaps made them a lot easier to understand :)
Getting ready to into the building and watch the second session.
Did I mention that other than the missionaries we were basically the only people in there? It was great and gettting a seat was a piece of cake!

Third times a charm, love you David!
We decided that our new tradition is to go to PF Changs for every conference. It was such a tasty treat especially becuase it's been 6 months since the last time we got to go. I think the biggest down side was the hour and some change wait! Uhhg I have never waited that long to go eat any where! Next conference we will be going BEFORE the second session on Saturday.... or we could just call in a reservation like EVERYONE else who was before us. Minus being a little starved the day was great and so was the food.
Forgive me these pictures are awful. We were supposed to get our waiter to take one of the two of us but it just didn't happen that way.
David!
Obvisouly you can see where my mind was.... yummy!
Doesn't everyone just love conference??? No need to answer, I already know you do!
