It's a Boy!

This is all about Baby Davie aka David Royal Warden V. Parts of it may be a little "descriptive" but having babies is a normal thing and you can feel free to only look at the pictures. Moving on, I had my last dr's appointment on Monday and was only dilated to 2 cm but I was starting to efface. So my dr said to come in again on Thursday.  Skip to the next day. I miss a call from my doctor in the morning and when I check the message he asks if I want to have a baby that day or the next. I was thinking "yes please!" I managed to get a hold of my Doctor and we set it up for us to go into the hospital the next morning at 7am.

Now I was a little disappointed in my progress since I was at a 3 with Colin at 38 weeks compared to a 1 with this little guy. I mentioned on here earlier that I have recently watched The Business of Being Born and learned a little more about Pitocin and other important birth related things. That show got me a little (ok maybe a lot) freaked out about how scary pitocin can be (it also greatly increases the chance you will need an epidural) and how high the possibility of a caesarean section is nowadays. So to agree to be induced after learning so much  about being induced and the risks was scary to me. I made sure to ask my doctor if we could just break my water and not use pitocin and he said that would be fine.

 There's David
 early morning

We both went to sleep a little late because of all the last minute things we wanted to get done. Including homework. I was afraid I would be too excited or anxious to sleep but I wasn't and that was good because when I did finally go to sleep it was fast.
This is my "yay! I'm not going to be pregnant anymore!" face

When Wednesday morning came around David and I woke up at at 5:30am so we could check into the hospital by 7 am. I think I was starting to feel like a lot of Moms do before they have a baby, something like "wait, if I get induced today... then I HAVE to have a baby today!" That is a lot to commit to at 7 am, I was both excited and kinda dreading it. Mostly the physical part. With Colin I went into labor on my own so there wasn't really any other choice but to have a baby. This is when I got to meet my nurse and do the mountain of paper work that goes along with being in the hospital. The nurse asked me if I had a goal and I said " to have a baby by 7:00pm."

By the time they finally got around to breaking my water it was 9am. The midwife came in to do it and basically it didn't really work. Baby's little head was so close to the bag of water that the medwife couldn't find an edge to break it. That part was quite uncomfortable and after a couple of minutes of trying I asked if she would stop. She had already checked how dilated I was and stripped my membranes by then so we decided to wait and see if that got some stuff moving. The midwife wasn't totally sure if she had gotten my water or not so she said to make sure I paid attention just in case it was broken but the babies head was just blocking it. I was basically at a 4 which was 2 more then I had been on Monday and I was almost completely effaced, so I was hopeful.

Skip ahead 3 hours. Nothing. Haha, absolutely nothing was happening! Don't get me wrong, not having contractions was great but that wasn't really the point of being at the hospital. My doctor had come in and visited me and I was basically just sitting around. They decided to try breaking my water again and it worked, very quickly too which was a relief after the last time.
Skip ahead 2 more hours. It's 2:00  when the nurse comes in and says that the dr ordered to put me on pitocin. Yikes! That was when I started to get a little (really) nervous.  There are women who get put on pitocin who still spend another 15 hours in labor. Only with pitocin contractions are longer and stronger. I really didn't want to be put on pit because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to resist getting an epidural but I decided to just go for it. With Colin I came into the hospital at 6 cm got an epidural and made it to  8cm in the 45 minutes before my epidural kicked in. So after all I had learned from my baby birth classes, a couple of documentaries, my mom, David's mom and my friend Stephanie this time I decided (not very concretely) to try and see of I could go all natural. The plus side was everything immediately started to take off. By 3:45pm my labor was FINALLY getting tough and I was really starting to doubt my abilities and every contraction was just consuming me, I was shaking uncontrollably and starting to feel really out of control. Thankfully before all this I had read my friend Stephanie's blog and I decided to look into Nubain as a pain reliever for labor instead of an epidural. I would have taken an epidural at that point but everyone (including David) was telling me that I was going really fast and an epidural would only slow me down. By the time I really wanted one the chances of the anesthesiologist getting to me and setting me up in time for anything to take effect and be worth it was slim to none.

That was when they gave me Nubain. It instantly made me calm down and feel comfy, tired  and a little fuzzy, not to mention it took away the shivers that had been wracking my whole body. However by the next contraction I learned that that was all Nubain really does. It takes off the edge. It's kinda like only having laughing gas for a really bad cavity filling or pulling a tooth. I felt way more in control but I still FELT.

By about 4:30 I REALLY wanted an epidural... again (haha remember I said I wanted to TRY to go natural). Only this time because everything was going so fast there was not much discussion it was more like me whimpering about it. That was when I had a BAD contraction and I felt a bunch of water gush. For two seconds I thought I wet myself but the nurse assured me it was amniotic fluid. The next contraction I felt like I needed to push, that is putting it lightly because really my body was pushing (hard) anyways. Again I felt a bunch of water, only this time I really had emptied my bladder. I'd say it was awkward but I was a little preoccupied at the moment, it is kinda funny to laugh about now though. I had a similar experience when I had Colin only it was my water then too. After I emptied my bladder David said he could see baby's head which had me shocked and two seconds later I had another contraction where I had to push like crazy. It was almost like two long contractions because I pushed so long and hard but immediately after I was done! At 4:42pm I found out I had a baby boy! I went from 10cm to completely done in 7 min with 2 and a half pushes!!!
They cleaned little Davie off a little and set him on my chest. I was so shocked and David kept asking if I was happy but the best word to describe how I felt right then was whiplashed. Did I really just have a baby in 2 hours and 42 min?!?! By the time they put me on Pit I figured I was going to be in labor all evening but I still made my goal of having Davie before 7pm, go me!
After the initial shock wore off they weighed him and I was again very surprised to find out that my little Davie wasn't even 7 lbs. David Royal Warden V was 6 lbs 13 oz, 19 inches long and of course COMPLETELY PERFECT! When little Davie's dad was born he weighed 10 lbs! I was 7 lbs 11 oz myself and Colin was 7 lb 3 oz. Needless to say I wasn't expecting anything under 7 and a half pounds. Aside from all that I can't say enough how happy I am that he is so little, I LOVE tiny babies. There is something so great about being able to cuddle with a teeny tiny baby and little Davie does it SO well.
 Brand NEW!
Not the best picture, but I was excited
 First bath with daddy

It was fun to watch David wash baby Davie, I'm pretty sure David was afraid he would break the baby
 David with his baby boy.
Video conference with all our family. We had the iPad, the laptop and both of our cell phones running in order to do it.
Keeping baby Davie fresh in his baby tupperware

Back to my birth experience, I think that without the Pitocin I probably still would have gotten the Nubain but it was better than an epidural. The second baby was out I felt almost instant relief and within 30ish min when they had me get up to use the bathroom I couldn't believe how great I felt. Thank you Stephanie for sharing both your baby stories on your blog! Between your stories, family experiences and always wanting to try going natural I was able to do it! I also have to say that being able to say I had a baby naturally is pretty cool too. And yes I realize that I was on pit which is not natural and I used  Nubain to help my pain a little but trust me it was natural! I'd also like to thank my Mom at this time for passing along some great genes! Haha, she also had very quick labors and was nice enough to share those genes with me. So far they have been greatly appreciated and used well. Lastly I was so thankful to have David there to help me every step of the way. He was an amazing support and was so good to me the ENTIRE time. I love him so much.
Once all the unexciting labor stuff was over David and I got to hold our baby all evening. I did, and still do, a lot of the skin to skin stuff with little Davie mostly because he is so sweet and baby soft but also for all the health and bonding it promotes. It was a busy afternoon with a calm evening and we are so happy to have our little guy. Nothing beats having your own baby.

I look all full of attitude in this picture but I really wasn't. Ahhh, what a great day!

2 Weeks

That is all we have left, 2 weeks! Yesterday I decided to take one more set of pictures for this pregnancy before I have baby. I can't lie but I pretty much hate all of them, haha I just felt like the camera really did add 10 pounds! Which is funny because I haven't really gained that much weight since 35 weeks, only about 3 pounds, give or take and depending on how well behaved I was that day.
On top you have 15 weeks to 30 weeks
and on bottom my least favorite pregnant pictures of them all. 38 weeks, I am DONE.
Then I have the comparison, pregnant with Colin 36 weeks and pregnant with Baby Warden 38. The weight gain is about the same but I still feel smaller than last time... feel free to tell me that isn't just in my head. Towards the end of pregnancy I start to both hate and love the compliments I get ALL the time. Haha for example I was at the grocery store the other day and the clerk congratulated me and asked me how far along I was. When I told her my due date she looked shocked and said I never would have thought you were so close. Those are the moments I choose to believe a total stranger because it makes me feel good. Anyways I'm about to head to the doctor's right now and hopefully I'll hear something good like I'm dilated to a 3 like I was at 38 weeks with Colin :) although a 4 would be even better. Wish me luck!

The Nursery

When we moved here last September this is what our second bedroom looked like.
As time went on it slowly (VERY SLOWLY) got a little better. When we got back from Idaho this summer I began to sell most of the smaller pieces of furniture we had because I knew they were not going to fit in this room or any others. What I was slowly realizing was that if I had something that took up a 2x2 foot space I needed it to go all the way up to the ceiling if possible and I had several shelves that were very short. For example the little white cabinet in this picture was a great little cabinet but it was just too small to keep around and be useful with the amount of space we have.
Then we got new carpet and the room was filled with junk. If I had had just a couple of spare minutes I would have posted this in October when it happened. My plan was to title the post "welcome to our nursery."
There was literally NO room to walk or even lean to get what we needed out of the room.
Hope you don't need anything out of the closet...
This picture is from sometime last week when we were finally able to get a mattress for the daybed and hang up the curtains. I'm really happy with how the window decor turned out. All that worrying about them being too flowery or girly as soon as we hung them up they just look green, whew!
Thus far this is our final set up. Although I'm absolutely sure it isn't realistic and we will quickly figure that out as soon as baby gets here, but for now I'm not constantly thinking about how we need to organize the second bedroom. What a relief!
What you see when you walk into the room.

Looking to the left, the green book shelf is from my Great Grandma Hazel, the bed was David's and the bedding was mine. All hand me downs but great nonetheless!
Turning to the right you have the dresser, crib and the armoire
Standing by the window. The room is a tight fit but we will manage and I am definitely happy with the way it turned out!

35 weeks

Yup, that is today (Sunday). This means I only have 5 weeks left... well until my due date but unless my doctor won't induce me I don't plan on waiting that long :) I am NOT that patient. My ultimate birthday goal for this baby is January 12th, if I have baby on that day then it will be exactly 6 months from mine on June 12th, 7 months from David and I's anniversary on July 12th and 9 months from my Mama's birthday; the 12th is kinda a big deal. Also the 12th would be a cool birthday, 01-12-2012. My better judgement says I'll probably have this baby about the same earliness as I had Colin so more realistically I'm thinking either the 16th or 18th, it just depends on how willing my doctor is. All of the ladies who were within a month or two of me are basically done and having their babies and I am SOOO jealous.
I have gained about the same amount of weight as last time (I was hoping to gain less) but I do feel like I look better this time. I think it is much more in the midsection this time too. Last time my winter coat fit around the belly until I was 9 months + pregnant and this time I am already struggling to zip it up. Honestly I had been wearing David's coats because they are baggy enough that if I were to see one of our neighbors they probably wouldn't notice the baby belly.

Does anyone remember me telling you that dogs, cats and children are NOT ALLOWED in our condo building? Well thus far not a single soul in our building has figured out I am pregnant. I believe the reasons for this are as follows
#1- We don't see our neighbors, and when we do I'm in a coat or in the car, very much in passing.
#2- When we do see our neighbors (once a week or less) there isn't a lot of friendly chit chat, more like awkward hellos it's almost like an "oh yea other people live here too" moment for them.
#3- I wear David's coat and we avoid bringing baby stuff in unless it's dark outside haha.
I wouldn't be totally shocked to find out that some people have figured out I'm pregnant and have just not said anything, mainly because there isn't anything they can do. Since the condo association created thier bylaws for the building in 1987 the fair housing act was passed which means we have every right to live here baby or not. David's and I's new goal is now to try and make it home with baby before anyone realizes it! Haha wouldn't that be funny? Since our families are coming right after we have our baby the neighbors might think the baby is visiting. Plus if they really didn't ever find out I was pregnant they won't think it's mine because as far as they know I wasn't ever pregnant.

Lately I have found myself enjoying other blogs about ladies that are about my age who have lost a baby. I think the reasoning is because even though I can't seem to connect to what is happening to me now I still feel very tender towards what happened with Colin. Not how things are now just the fact that I had to go through it in the first place. It's very much a feeling of having been robbed. While I was pregnant with Colin I knew there was no other way to get around my situation and so I had to just live through every awful day. It's funny because I don't have a single picture of me with him or while I was pregnant with him where I am crying but looking back or reading my journal I know that was all I ever did; for months. My biggest defense last time was to just try and dull my senses so that I could make it through the day and sadly I find myself doing that now too. I wish I could just be more excited but I just think there is a part of me who won't be able to let go until I take this baby home. I haven't been an emotional wreck like a lot of pregnant woman are but I keep warning David that I think the water works will turn on full blast the day we take this kid home.

The other day I watched "The Business of Being Born" and I was surprised how much I cried, EVERY TIME the women in the documentary held their babies for the first time, I cried. I feel like that is the moment I am making myself wait for, its that part of my subconscious that won't let me celebrate until it knows I'm safe. Also if you haven't watched "The Business of Being Born" check it out on Netflix, it's a little graphic but that's birth for ya. It had some really interesting factoids and such in it. I have never been opposed to the idea of having a baby naturally but it is a lot to commit to. After watching it I decided that I think having at least one of my babies naturally is definitely a bucket list goal for me. Last time was obvious why I didn't want to go O-Natural and this time... well I just want to be able to enjoy myself as thoroughly as possible, and if that means I want an epidural, then I am going to have one.
Baby's Crib
Anyways enough about me lets talk baby stuff! I had my baby shower a couple of weeks ago with some of the ladies here and I took zero pictures, sorry Jess. I had every intention, I brought my camera fully charged had it out & ready to roll and then I didn't take a single picture. I got the regular baby supplies you usually get at a shower and some cute little onsies. I need to take some pictures of the super cute clothes I have slowly been accumulating. Kohl's sent us another $10 off coupon so I used that the other day, only this time I literally spent NOTHING: thank you Kohl's and I still hate you. Our crib now has a mattress and sheets. The other day after setting the mattress in the crib David looked at me and said "You could actually put a baby in there and it could go to sleep," haha I was actually thinking almost the exact same thing; great minds think alike!

Lately

I can finally relate to all my friends and family who are constantly talking about how life will start once their (and their spouse's) semester ends. This last week I spent an enormous amount of time trying to type up a research paper for my film class. I have never struggled to get words on the page like that! As you all have noticed I am a talker and when it comes to writing papers the amount of words that come out of my little head is no different, so this paper was very difficult for me. I went to the writing lab, my mom got to listen to it and help (I'm sure she was just dying to do that :) and then I went to the writing center again.

The second trip was an absolute waste of my time, the girl assigned to help me was so useless! (did I mention she was also late?) The first time I went the gal chatted with me helped me brainstorm and basically just helped me get some confidence that I was on the right path. My second appointment the writing center aide basically told me EVERYTHING I already knew, wouldn't help with proofreading, oh and said she wasn't really sure what the point of my paper was... wha?? I knew I needed serious help with organization/ flow of my paper but the point was super clear, almost to redundancy and that's why I was there to make sure it wasn't getting to repetitive.

ANYWAYS I managed to get it completely written it just took a lot longer than usual. I have a powerpoint presentation for my Health communications class and a comprehensive Math final and David has his last test next Friday. Friday can also be referred to as when our Christmas season officially begins. We don't even have our Christmas tree up yet :( BUT we have a crib in the nursery and a mattress for it! As soon as I can get that room a little more organized I PROMISE to take a picture we have been making SLOW but steady progress. This week we had our first Birth, Babies and More class at the hospital, it was so nice to be able to go with David, I love him so much. We had to leave early because that was also the night of my baby shower which went well and I got some more cute stuff. I'll have to take pictures of all this cute stuff that has slowly been accumulating at our house.
Guess what this is? A pile of thank you's to all of the ladies who attended or brought a gift to my baby shower this summer. Haha I feel so bad it has taken me this long to send them out but I am also super paranoid that I might have forgotten someone. If I did and you are that someone it has nothing to do with whether or not I am thankful! I just have no brain and what little I do have is being consumed by school. Hopefully the ladies here in Toledo won't find me too lame when I hand deliver my thank you's. I hate sending thank you notes in the mail it takes me twice as long!

Yesterday was our ward party and we only went because I was told by my friend Lindsay about 2 hours before haha. I felt bad because we were supposed to bring food and we didn't, my only defense is we try our best to bring something most of the time. If you think about it we almost didn't even bring ourselves. It was sad because we had to leave early so David could study some more which means I have no pictures. Oh and tonight we are going to see the Nutcracker and I am SOOOOO EXCITED!!! (There are lots of caps in this post sorry I just don't know how else to add emphasis to what I am saying) And that is what has been happening lately.

For Cute

I spent most of Friday trying to just make up my mind on a carseat stroller travel system. No we didn't get any black Friday deals but there also weren't any; trust me I looked. It doesn't sound like a very big deal but once I realized I would be spending 150+ dollars it became something I had to research so I could get a system that is both safe and I liked.
There it is the infamous stroller travel system that I have been studying, obsessing over and worried about for the last month... or more, probably more. I originally wanted to get a baby seat that could hold up to 30 pounds but they were more expensive and many of them had that fuzzy material or fake suede type fabric on them and I HATE that; also the thought of cleaning up baby mess from the fuzz stuff seemed really gross to me.
This is the little teddy bear I decided to practice with because it was just so darn cute! We really liked this set, the colors were prefect for being gender neutral and there are cute little forest animals on it that remind me of Bambi.

30 Weeks

Wow there it is 30 weeks, and I am FEELING it!!
The other day I was putting lotion on my stomach and David says "wow your skin is like way tight," yes thank you David for pointing out the obvious, haha. On that same note, whose idea was it to make pregnancy be 40 weeks? I remember feeling this exact same way about this exact same time with Colin; DONE! Alas there is no solution but to let the bump continue to take over. I find myself getting more and more annoyed when I have to sit down to do anything that involves my feet, like putting on socks and shoes. Today I asked David to pass me the remote to the TV as he left the room and he set it on the ottoman in front of me. I was quick enough to say "Nope, closer"before he could walk away. Initially I think he was a little annoyed, but I think he realized there was no way I was going to be able to reach the remote any easier on the ottoman than where it had been on the opposite arm rest of the couch; he is slowly catching on :)

Let's see what else.... I had my glucose test, but I don't know my results yet.

I can remember Colin rustling around a lot but this kid is seriously a soccer player. I still feel like baby is a boy, but David and I both tease that baby is going to be some timid gentle little girl after all this kicking and punching (seriously this kid is a little violent sometimes). Our family, on both sides is becoming increasingly annoyed or rather impatient about our decision to wait to see what the baby is, and that is fun. The nursery, is well, still 100% a work in progress. David has had test Armageddon the last two weeks and other than basic chores not a whole lot has been accomplished around here; yikes. I feel like I should be more worried than I am about how un-far along that whole project is going but I'm just too lazy to care right now. Hopefully the nesting thing (i.e.- motivation) will kick in before there is any real need to panic.

The other day I managed to buy some curtains for $4.97. I used a gift card to Pottery Barn David and I had gotten from Colin's Mama for our wedding, but lost immediately after because of moving. That is why gift cards are so handy, you never know when your recipient might lose it for a year. The curtains are a little more "girly" than I had hoped but they are green and honestly by the time it would matter to this kid he won't even live in this house, so I'm not concerned.
The style is supposed to be wrung up so they came all wound up in a little pouch. I didn't really like that because it looked like a pleated skirt, but now you can see the flowers better. I didn't realize the pattern was so flowery. Online it looked more like paisley stuff, which I guess is also kinda girly but I only had so much I could spend and I wasn't about to go crazy on baby nursery curtains. Once they are hanging up and they have a little movement in them I'm sure they will look fine.

I'm not really sure what else to say except that waiting two more months is a painful thought. I really don't want to get much bigger, I'm already freaking out haha. I feel like by the time I really got completely over the anxiety of telling everyone and them possibly NOT being excited about David and I having a baby, I was far enough into pregnancy that it was starting to get to the uncomfortable stage. I'm hoping that with our next baby I will finally be able to relax and really enjoy the whole experience from beginning to end. Not that this one has been bad by any means but seeing as how this is my first baby and second pregnancy I still had some hang ups from last time. We are starting to get excited the closer we get. Today I signed us up for our babies, childbirth and more class at the hospital now which will start in about 3 weeks. Also we have been rather terrible at remembering to tear off the chain links on our count down every night. Instead we end up tearing off 3-5 links a couple of times a week :)

Lastly I have a story to share. I'm leaving out some details so as not to dish too much on David but the general idea is all it takes. David has had a lot of time to himself lately because he has had to study and I needed to not bug him. During a lunch break together (lately meals is all we really get) this weekend he told me that he had been thinking about how little our baby will be and that it made him get all choked up. I think it embarrasses him to share things like that with me but I LOVE it, he is going to do so great when the baby gets here.

Day #11- Clearance

I am not a couponer, but I love the clearance rack. On Friday I used another coupon I got from Kohl's for $10 off a purchase of $10 or more before tax. This time I managed to only spend 63 cents! This makes my grand total for 6 baby clothing items from Kohl's 32 cents a piece.
My receipt said something crazy like "you saved $52 today at Kohl's." After I read that I laughed turned to David and said "can you imagine paying more than $52 for the little items we just got"?! I don't know if I would spend that much on 4 items for myself, not to mention on clothes for some little guy or gal who will only wear it for a few months. David definitely agreed.

I have been really proud of myself I don't think I have spent more than $15 in cash on baby clothing. David loves it too but we have been really blessed because much of what we have is from my baby shower and a raid of the DI with my Mama before we left IF. Don't we all love getting something for almost nothing :)

90 days!

Since I have become increasingly tardy on all my blog posts (and just about any other event that isn't consistent, YW presidency meetings, visiting teaching, oil change appointments, you name it I'll forget it) I figured I would make sure to post this BEFORE today was over. I was going to start this chain from 100 days but it just didn't happen so instead it started from 94 days, once again my only excuse is better late than never. I had it strung all over by the door so that when David came home the other day he wouldn't be able to miss it, literally.
Even though it took me almost all day to pick out paper, cut it into strips, number the links and then tape them together, ripping one up every night is still lots of fun. Also if you look at the links on the right side of the picture you will notice that they are a little chunky, haha. Fatty chain links were completely unintended and I had to cut the remainder of my strips of paper in half so that they would look like a chain.
Also today we had a doctors appointment. Everything went well I am measuring 1 week ahead but I am within a pound of where I was at this stage with Colin so I'm not worried. My Dr is thinking about doing another ultrasound for his own records which means we might get to see Baby Warden again before he/ she is born, BONUS! Today my Mama officially bought her plane tickets to come visit in January for 2 whole weeks, AND David's parents will be here the day after she leaves, it's starting to get exciting :)

25 Weeks

I promised myself I wouldn't post this more than 6 days late... oh well!
I love seeing everyone else's pictures when they are pregnant but I really dislike seeing my own, haha and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. After all it's a struggle to see picture proof that you are in fact gaining weight and beginning to look chubby. The other thing that I am jealous of is the ladies who seem to have that perfectly round belly. Mine takes way to long to be round, like right now as soon as I put on those maternity pants it makes my tummy suck in a little (you can see that in the first picture) which makes it look lopsided or something.

I think the biggest difference between this stage last time and now is I do feel like I am hungry ALL the time, it's killing me! I am still trying my best to not just gain un-necasarry weight but that really makes it tricky. I try to drink lots of water to help off-set that hungry feeling and junior (that is the nickname I use it is a little boy-ish but that is what my parents called me too) HATES it. Every time I  take a drink of anything cold I can feel baby wiggling all around, I don't' remember Colin doing or reacting to anything I ate other than giving me heartburn, especially that immediately. Oh and junior loves to kick my insides around until I get David to put his hand on my belly. No joke, I have started having him do it whenever baby gets a little too busy in there and it works like a charm. Then baby is a perfect angel, it's the only thing that has me thinking that junior might be a junior miss. Either way I like to think that David already has a calming touch when it comes to our baby, it melts my heart.
Isn't' this THE Cutest little froggy blanket ever! My fellow Young Women's leader made this and one for the other leader (she is only 2 weeks behind me). I LOVE it and it's perfect for a boy or girl. All I did was mention how cute the material was at our quilting activity the week before and at our meeting the next week she had two all done! What an awesome lady :) Another thing I think is exciting is as of 25 weeks if something had happened our baby would have had a 50/50 chance of making it. It's a scary thought but it's also an achievement, and as of this week the odds are closer to 80%. Knowing that you have reached a point of success makes the whole experience seem more real.

I have managed to switch doctors, which was an adventure. It was also really scary because we had to be sure our insurance was good, obviously if we have it (and have paid for it) we need to go some where it would give us the biggest bang for our buck. My friends and ladies in the ward told me the doctors they were using and after searching our insurance website for what seemed like hours I found a couple that matched and narrowed it down from there. After my first appointment I wasn't automatically impressed but after thinking about the discussion we had I decided our new doctor will do great. The main thing I have noticed about him is that he seems to have the same policy about all this baby stuff I do. And that policy is a laid back, take it as it comes kind of approach. The other place I was at just seemed like they had ways of doing things and they wanted me to do what they wanted. I'm sorry but I was not about to fight (that's a strong word but the best to describe my issue) or argue my way to get what I felt like I want/ need, IF the things I want are reasonable.

Lastly, after David's parents visit this weekend we now have some outside storage that we can use to relieve the second bedroom of STUFF. So that means I will be doing my best to get a picture of our nursery on here sooner. Although there may not be a crib in the room for 2 more months, we do have all of the accumulated baby things in the room put away nicely. Oh and David's parents left this for baby, I think we will open some this year and let baby open some next year. I think they are a little excited :)

That's My Bab-bay, I Don't Mean May-BE!

This is what David and I got to do on Wednesday :)
I like that baby Warden already has the same little nose that me, my little brother and Colin have. Baby is going to be pretty stinkin' cute! After our ultrasound I was more convinced that Baby is a boy and David is more convinced that it is a girl. If you haven't voted yet make sure you do! I'll laugh if it's a girl because right now David is one of the only people who thinks Baby is a girl. I'm not going to lie I just barely think it's a boy, I have no motherly intuition when it comes to this kind of stuff. With Colin I thought he was a girl and so did much of my family, obviously he is not. Keeping it all a surprise is so FUN!
One of the most fun parts about going and doing the ultrasound was watching David realize that the baby really is moving around in there... LOTS! He hadn't felt the baby move yet, but I sure have. Today he finally did and it was so fun! He was like "Whoa!" What great fun this all is.

On a more random note, I have noticed that this next year is THE year to have a baby. So if you are thinking about getting pregnant do it! Haha everyone else is :) Not only that but as of right now you have plenty of time to plan on having a baby before the end of 2012.
When the tech switched to 3D from the regular ultrasound she told us "now don't be alarmed if baby is still a little boney looking. You are still early enough in your pregnancy that Baby probably won't have very much fat yet." About two seconds after she said that and finally got Baby to look at us and hold still she said "Wow, baby already has some chubby little cheeks." Haha and all I could say was "Yup!" Seeing as how David, Me, My Mom and much of my family have baby faces I was not in the least surprised. And those little cheeks sure were fun to see!

I was so happy to have David there to hold my hand while we did our ultrasound. Afterwards he told me that there were several times he almost got teary eyed watching our baby. What a wonderful way to start the day!

A Baby Shower

David's Mommy threw me a baby shower while we were in Idaho Falls this summer. Haha I'm only like 2 months behind on this post. The main reason is because I didn't take any pictures, I'm really regretting that right now. Luckily my new sister Lauren did, thanks lady! It went really well all the boys got to leave the house and play and all the ladies sat in and talked about babies while we ate tasty food.
This is one of my favorite decorations. Jessica and her Mom did a teddy bear theme and the tree had boy and girl teddy bears in it.
Super tasty sherbet and sprite mix, seriously it was addicting!!
Cutest teddy bear diaper cake ever!
Now because I chose not to take pictures of me or anyone else I have two candid shots of me, haha. I was so happy to see so many ladies come and even more sent a gift over after! I'm still working on those thank you's. I can only promise to get them to you before I have the actual baby.

After the party I was really sad because I had to take the diaper cake apart so I could pack it. I had David bring it downstairs for me. He was so willing, hehe jk.
There's a smile :)
Honestly I could not believe how many diapers were in that thing! It was great, they might last two whole days ;)
