Maumee Bay

A couple of ladies went to Maumee bay right before summer ended. It was a really beautiful day I just wish Davie hadn't made me an hour late. We didn't stay very long since the other ladies needed to leave and lets face it swimming with Davie is more like sitting.
The second I say Davie down he leaned over and got himself a handful of sand... he is a BOY! Through and through he was magnetically attracted to the stuff the whole time we were there.
Maumee bay is a very pretty place though and I decided that next year I will have to plan better so that we can go again.
Splish splash
LOVE this picture, it's just so perfect, the rolls especially.
Haha his face cracks me up in this one, but I am smiling all right so half and half.
See what did I tell ya? He is totally checking out that mud.
The other ladies and their little ladies. I was the only one there with a little boy :)

7 Months

My baby is 7 months old... he is now one month closer to a year than he is to his birth, and I just can't believe it.
So what is new? At his 6 month appointment he hadn't even gained a pound (although he seriously spit up EVERYTHING I had personally fed him before we go there, seriously the kid soaked his shirt, spit blankie, his onsie and then even his pants) he weighed 14 some thing at 4 months and 14 pounds 14 ounces. Not gaining very much weight had me a little concerned, even though he certainly wasn't starving and the doctor didn't seem worried, so I scheduled a weight check for this month.
We are sitting up better.
We never hold still so monthly pictures are getting more and more complicated and dramatic (lots of crying, mom and Davie).
Thankfully he gained 2 pounds within the last month and I am going to have to say it was the solids. I'll admit I started him a little later than I should have but I started trying solids about once a week from the time he was 4 months on and the kid just wasn't interested so I took a break for a while, then all the sudden he was 6 months old and starving haha. Now Davie is once again sleeping though the night much more soundly just like old times.
He can crawl in every direction but forward, which gets him pretty frustrated.
July was when I was studying for my last CLEP test and that was also when Davie got his first fever. Let me just say this little boy is a bit of a monster when he is sick. He was soooo fussy and miserable but not anymore snuggly then usual so that was difficult too. This little guy is NOT cuddly :( it breaks my heart and I would have loved the chance to snuggle and love on him when he was sick but NO way was he going to do allow that. Instead he was just miserable for 3-4 days and he didn't sleep well. I was really proud of him and myself that he made it to 6 months and some change before he ever got sick.

He still has no teeth but if you look at his face you can see that he has a chapped little face because he is constantly drooling.
Nothing is off limits anymore!
There always seems to be something in his pictures that is blurred, if it's not his face it's his hand, foot or his toy.
I love his sweet little profile.
He sits up like this in his crib and I will go in after his nap to find him waiting for me behind his bars, which always makes me feel kind of guilty.

Love this little boy.

Toledo Zoo Night

Family zoo night at the Toledo zoo. Do you like the BIG umbrella? Ya, me too, it was a bit drizzly, off and on of course because that is how Toledo works. It didn't stop a MILLION other people from going but thankfully the temperature wasn't too bad.
Checking out the polar bears
Daddy and Davie
Mommy and covered up Davie, it was raining pretty bad in this picture.
Davie telling us where to go next.
David making an exaggerated smiley face at Davie, it worked.
Preparing for the arctic animals. Step one put baby in coat.
Step two- find shelter
The looks on Davie's face were great and David was trying to make a cold face for me but he kept busting out in laughter. And of course everyone who was passing by got a good laugh. Davie didn't freak out which surprised me because he hates being cuddled.
Step 3- cuddle for warmth!
Step 4- don't die
Just a side note it was like mid 60's so it wasn't really cold, the rain made it chilly.
Elepahants
Davie checking out the little girl holding a bird
If you noticed how incredibly high Davie's little breeches are you can thank David.

How does Davie measure up?? There were a couple of other little kids there and they thought Davie was funny standing there getting measured by the birds.
We're breaking out!
Mommy's baby :)
Afterwards we went to Outback with the gift card David's Mom sent me for passing my science CLEP test, YUM!
