Easter

I have always loved Christmas and Easter. Mainly because they center around Christ. Easter has never been very "exciting" around our house mainly because my parents decided that it was not somthing they wanted to commercialize. I am so thankful for that. We on occasion have done egg hunts or gotten candy but it has never been over done at our house. It really is sad to see how much people go over board at times. Unfortunately the two most sacred holidays that center around Christ are also the two most over done. This is my favorite hymn I heard it for the first time about 6 years ago right after I bore my testimony in sacrement. It was one of the first times I had ever felt the spirit so incredibly strong and was old enough to recognize it for what it was. Then after I sat down we sang this song and I remember just crying so much because I knew that Christ lives and that he loved me. I love this song it always gives me so much peace. 1. Abide with me; ’tis eventide. The day is past and gone; The shadows of the evening fall; The night is coming on.Within my heart a welcome guest,Within my home abide.
[Chorus]O Savior, stay this night with me;Behold, ’tis eventide.O Savior, stay this night with me;Behold, ’tis eventide.
2. Abide with me; ’tis eventide.Thy walk today with meHas made my heart within me burn,As I communed with thee.Thy earnest words have filled my soulAnd kept me near thy side.
3. Abide with me; ’tis eventide,And lone will be the nightIf I cannot commune with theeNor find in thee my light. The darkness of the world, I fear,Would in my home abide.
