Before David and I got married lot's of people around us were giving away things. My Grandma was moving and mentioned she would be getting rid of their couch. I IMMEDIATLY let her know that David and I didn't have one and would even be willing to pay for the one she was getting rid of. In the end that is what we got from her as a wedding gift (again THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! We love our new couch). The couch came with it's very own and very nice pillows that match but because I have previously had different furniture, I now have extra decorative couch pillows. The only problem is that David likes to pluck feathers from the pillows that go to the couch, which drives me crazy. So I decided to try out my fancy pillows with the couch. I see people do things like this in magazines all the time but I still feel like when I go out on a limb in decorating it doesn't seem to look as good. That's why I have enlisted you to tell me what you think. Can I mix a patterned couch with patterned pillows?
Now the mini project. When david and I moved we taped a lot of things together, A LOT, like everything. Well I made the mistake of taping this cute little footstool together and this is what happened...
not so cute anymore and it's a little sticky now. This really dissapointed me because it was cheap (about $10) and I use it to put remotes, blankets and some times even emergency cozy socks away right next to the couch.
See. It's a nice little storage cube and footstool. Well this was a problem so I decided to brainstorm what I could do. Ultimately David and I would like to have a BIG leather footstool that stores big blankets and looks kinda like a coffee table but for now all we have is this. So this is my idea
I am going to cover the footstool. The fabric is usually 14.99 a yard but I went in on a day that just happened to be 40% (total luck) and got a yard for 8 bucks. Initially when I was looking at the fabric to cover my mini stool I was trying to justify spending anymore then $10 on something that had only cost me $10 in the first place but this works I can handle an $18 footstool.
