Something to Do

This isn't reall a new concept for me but I decided to tell you guys something else that is true. Whenever I have something I should be doing, laundry, cooking, cleaning and really just about any other chore you can think of I find myself on here blogging. Haha basically anytime you read a blog that seems a bit more scatter brained or unfocused ( not that they are very far between... ) it's probably because I'm trying to write it quickly so I can finish my chores :) Like now, I should be making or starting dinner so that when I go pick up David from school it will be ready.... and I'm blogging.

Here I am un-using my time wisely so you guys can have something to read, because I have so many fans that I wouldn't want to dissapoint and I'm such a giving caring person. ANYWAYS this is the point of this blog. Look how cute our tree is not that we put it all together!

He is the best tree ever! I know you think your tree is great but this year you are wrong, don't worry though because there is always next year for you to have the best tree. I am just so excited to have a REAL tree. Also the other day I did our Christmas cards, that meant David had to help my by posing while I positioned our tripod. He just LOVES (sarcasm) getting pretty for the camera and getting his picture taken! Not only that but he's so willing to do it (more sarcasm :)
David helping with the tripod, it's a stubborn little bugger.
A cheesy little smile.
I don't know what I asked him to do in this one but I'm sure this face wasn't it, haha!
A little more cheese

This next part is his blackmail for giving me so much trouble, haha I'm already scared for when we have to try to add a baby to the picture and it's only our first Christmas... help! In the end we did get our one good picture though so I guess that's all that counts. And here are the pictures that almost made the card. I'm not going to lie there were MANY but some were a little scary, apparently David's idea of a silly face and mine are VERY different, hah!
Kissy face
Now David really does look like Kiss
This is David's"uuuhhgg are we done yet?" face, and yes, I was done.

I'm Not a Crazy Couponer

Have you guys read all this business about couponing lately? The kind where you can buy $60 worth of groceries for $15 simply by using store sales and coupons. Well I have, and lately I have been trying it out a little here and there. My overall feeling is this, it's a LOT of work and a LOT of rules and too much time. I'll admit it works great on cereal and the process isn't too painful (unlike others). I would have to say that I am name brand oriented when it comes to cereal only because I have had some pretty funky tasting no-name brands.

Overall this is what I find to be my top probems with it all

#1- I just don't have the time to get online and figure out deals or stop into the store and read through their advert (and I have only been doing this stuff at Kroger which is like Albertson's and you can coupon at many different stores supposedly)

#2- I can't afford to get a Sunday paper to get the weekly inserts and I most definitely don't have time to track them down from other people.

#3- When I do go online and look at what is cheap and for sale a LOT of the so called food that is in there is basically just junk food, chips, pop, fruit roll ups, cookies, crackers etc. Not only that but you have to buy in bulk to make many of the deals worth it and we have NO room for extra food in our condo I go crazy as it is.

#4- I can go in and buy no-name products for literally pennies more (AFTER you apply sales and coupons to the name  brands) then all the couponing and I don't have to do ANYTHING.

#5- Last but not least I just want to go to the store with my grocery list get what I need and get out, if that means I spend 10 extra dollars I guess I just don't care.

I have come to the conclusion that if couponing makes it take longer I'm just not interested. Maybe couponing out West is better, maybe I'm just lazy but my conclusion on the matter is this "if it takes more then 10 extra min to save $10 I'm not interested." This doesn't mean I'm not looking for deals or opposed to those of you who can figure it out I'm just saying it's not for me.

Truth

Lately I have seen a lot of people who have decided to do 30 days of truth on their blog. I have thought about doing it myself but to be honest I don't really want to answer some of the questions so I decided to simply write a truth-filled post now and then.

Tonight I have been running over a lot of things in my head. This week I had the worst day I have had in a long time, and to be honest there really was no reason for it. It had been a while since I cried and got all emotional and when David called me half way through the day and I cried. Crying is one of those things that really relieves a lot of tension for me. I have found that ever since I had Colin I am really not much of a crier anymore, I just don't get emotional like I used it. I guess when you spend 4 months of your life crying it changes a person. Most days that is great because I really feel that I have grown up, but other days it can be a problem.

So I decided I'll be honest. In this post I'm going to write about some things that have been bothering me. I'm going to use this first one as an example because it was used on me just recently. I hate it when people say "not to use So-and-so as an example" by "not to" they mean they are going to and by "so-and-so" they mean you and "as an example" they mean a bad one. Really? How does that make the speaker any more diplomatic I guess I would much rather have them just come right out and say "you are a bad example". Seriously lets not dilly dally here people we are all adults I'm the first one to tell you that I am NOT always a good example, I just don't like phrases like that. Maybe it's because the people I know who like to use phrases like that I have found dishonest and insincere.

Another thing that has become a problem for me is Nursery. It isn't that I don't like it because once I get there I'm fine, I think it has more to do with the fact that the kids in there are Colin's age and that still hurts a little. Maybe that along with the fact that EVERYONE is having babies right now bothers me. I can't tell you how green with envy I am of all you. Not only that but I feel like the Grinch when I say it. It sounds awful, "I am unhappy that you are happy" that is basically what it means. I know there will be a time and a place for me, but I also know that right now is not it. For now I am still so jealous it makes me sick at times.

I guess the best way to describe it is to imagine you are really hungry, like starving and you are watching everyone around you eat your favorite food. I've been so close but I still can't touch it. I think that will be the last thing I go through before I can really feel all better about Colin.

Maybe that is too honest? But I feel better having written it. I guess it's been a while since I vented on my blog. Thankfully I think I can honestly say I haven't had much to complain about recently, life really is good. The things I have been complaining about are more like afterthoughts. They are those mean little thoughts in the back of your head when you go to sleep all my little insecurities. Anyways I just thought I would share and be more honest, besides it's good to read someone else's ventings from time to time I think it all makes us realize we are human and other people are struggling too.

25 Days of Christmas

I decided to do it! I haven't done any countdowns for Christmas since I was in junior high or grade school. So because David and I have no kids but still want the holiday season to be fun I decided to go for it. I'll admit one person who motivated me was Kira. Seriously, you inspire me, I read your blog some days and I wonder how you do it! Not to mention that you now have two kids and I have... none. Haha then I think about what I did during the day.... went to work had a quick dinner... went to bed? Lame! This is me deciding to make things more fun.
David putting our tree stand together.

Anyways at first I'll have to admit I was really overwhelmed by the idea of planning something every day until Christmas, but I looked up some fun ideas online and decided that I could just do simple things and we could still have the spirit of Christmas for the season. Today is day three and the last two activities worked out well. Wednesday David and I got to pick out a real tree! I was so excited this is my first real tree in YEARS. Thursday I  made some oreo pie and we watched Garfield holiday episodes. I love Garfield even if I'm not a fan of cats. Also I have been trying to find Christmas movies but even Wal Mart wants $10 for the 30-45 minute shorts like the Grinch, Rudolph etc. I got lucky with Garfield because even though it was $10 it had his Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes.

Our first Christmas

These are our chocolate Christmas countdown calendars, thanks Mama Warden.
See how cute :)
Little teddy bear chocolate
Eating our chocolate yummy yummy!
Putting the star on top
Putting the lights on
Tah- dah!
David ate his legs and I ate his head!

That's what we have been doing so far. We will have to see how the rest of them go, hopefully we will have some fun ones and I will post them for you to see.

Thanksgiving... in Missery, I mean Missouri

David and I went to Missiour for Thanksgiving! It was fun, I got to meet his uncle again check out the state capitol and see Harry Potter 7 part one AND Megamind two GREAT shows. The only thing I have to complain about was the drive, 10 hours in a car is too long! Not only that but it was raining like crazy on our way down there and there was plenty of traffic, that had me pretty freaked out. I can handle lots of rain or traffic but not rain and traffic, I had quite the white knuckle drive when it was my turn.
This was our stop in Effingham haha we were joking about that quite a bit.
There's Effingham

Thumbs up!
David being cold! I can still probably count how many times I have seen him get goosebumps, the man is always warm.
This is a new junk food addiction and I hate pretzels! These guys taste like Pizza Hut which is basically the best kind of pizza there is.
Thanksgiving!
Tasty rolls, potatoes, turkey, corn, it was good. I'm still surprised we didn't have any desserets! I guess that was a bummer but I will have to work on that for next time, because I know I can make pie.
Louis and Clark
Tasty big toe

Something I learned while in Missouri- Grizzly bears are on the state's seal but they no longer exsist in Missouri and the rolling hills are prime country for them, NOT the mountains. I think I already knew that Grizzly county wasn't in the mountains but I always find it interesting to learn new things.
Saying good-bye. Hah, I think we all look half asleep in this picure. Yuck just don't look at my face!
One more state to add to my list! I'm down 22 and I only have 28 to go. We will be going to Washington DC for Christmas so I am sure I will be adding at least one more state to my list.
