4 Months

This is what is new on the Davie front. The boy has become quite a bit more fussy the last month and a half and so now my new goals are to make sure he takes more naps that are longer at the same time each day (when possible). That is the only thing that I believe could reasonably be causing his fussiness. He is not teething. Otherwise he is just fussy for no reason, which I really hope is not the case.

This is the best picture

"ooo, stringy things"
I want to eat one...
going for it!
Davie kankles!! Jessica I thought of you when I took this one, not because you have kankles but because I was pretty sure you would think his were awesome :)
He can almost sit up on his own, he loves his bumbo and isn't much for being ignored. Dinner and other times where I cannot pay generous amounts of attention to him are not ok.
He loves those hands of his
and he smiles a TON now, which is typically accompanied by a squeal or a small giggle which is amazing and I LOVE it!
He has also become quite the spitter-upper. Uck! I hate it! But it is as his grandma said a laundry problem and not a baby problem. It wouldn't bug me so much if he wasn't so darn sneaky about it. The second I take off a bib to put on another is when he likes to spew. Or he is good for several days in a row so I will set him on the carpet or our bed for a second while I grab something and bleh!
He weighed 14 pounds and 11 ounces (50th percentile) at his 4 month appointment and I know he would have weighed 15 if he hadn't spit up 8 times before we left and 4 times once we got there (essentially ruining his shirt for the day). He is 24 inches tall now and that puts him in the 25th to 50th percentile which was much easier for his father to handle.
The other day at the mall he was getting complimented by EVERYONE and when I told the store clerk what his name was she said "Oh cute! Like Davie Crocket!". I had never thought of that but yes Davie, like Davie Crocket, I like that I feel some Halloween ideas coming on.

OCD Makes Me Itchy

I hate tags. I don't like them on my shirt, pants, dresses, you name it I hate them all. Over the years I have learned to live with them but when I was younger I would just cut them out. I know for a fact that drove my mom crazy. I can remember her having to sew several different things after I "helped" cut out the tag and put plenty of good sized holes in several articles of clothing as well. Not only that but when you have a growing child and they cut out the tag it makes it difficult to remember what size their clothes are.
A small sampling of the tags I have been cutting off of everything

Now that I have my own baby I am always amazed at the amount of useless excessive packaging (aka- GARBAGE) that accompanies EVERYTHING and you guessed it tags. It is beyond ridiculous! Davie has soooo many little items that have tags on them over the last couple weeks I have started just cutting or ripping off as many as possible. The tags have been driving me crazy for quite some time. For example Davie got an awesome set of big wash clothes for bath and they came in a package and each cloth had two large tags on them. That is over kill right? That's not just me?

Something else that has been making me itchy...
my hair! I have been shedding like crazy. Which I think is actually pretty gross and I hadn't planned on sharing but it just keeps coming out and it is EvErYwHeRe. I don't remember this happening after I had Colin but this is definitely related to post-pregnancy stuff. This picture is a teeny tiny example of how much is coming off my head just from showering, it's nuts. And yes I realize am a little (a lot) weird for lining it up end to end like this. The only thing I regret is that is only about half as big as it should be because lets face it I don't have the patience to line up every hair that falls out of my head, also even though the hair is completely clean (I just shampooed it) as soon as it is no longer on my head its just gross. And there are just a few of my OCD moments as of late :)

Mother's Day

This year was technically my 4th mothers day, if you count being pregnant on mothers day. But this year was my first mothers day where I felt like I could openly celebrate without feeling like I had to share my life story.

David got me purple flowers and a new blender (Just what I always wanted!!) for Mothers day. Our old one is a super nice kitchen aide but it is on it's last leg.
Since I had Davie I have enjoyed many of the things that go along with being a mom, there is definitely something empowering about a little baby that needs YOU.
That's my baby
Showing me some love

After church
Then he blind folded me and took me to Red Lobster.
One of my most favorite places to eat, although there are many.
 Davie got fussy
So Dad held him, as you have notice from the pictures Davie is getting quite accustomed to being held as we eat. Davie was all smiles once David freed him from his carseat but this was the only picture I could get and it was still burry, also David's face is pretty funny.
Look at Davie's chubby little face, I love both of these boys! The rest of the day was just relaxing at home. Happy Mother's Day Ladies!

Real Men Wear Pink

In May Davie and I did a walk for breast cancer. I figured it was time that I did something since my own mother has had it. Plus I was able to go with some friends. It was kind of neat because all three of our mother's had breast cancer, I don't think I realized that before this walk.
Our neighbor made this cute little iron on for Davie's shirt
Genevieve and Joy
Zoe, Ashley and Stella
Davie and Myself. It started off a little cool that morning but by the time the walk was over it was pretty warm. That's why my face is all flushed and pink.

Davie's single tear in this picture is perfect! Thank you Ashley for taking it, it always makes me laugh. The poor guy has had a weepy eye since he was born and he almost always has a tear running down his face. We have taken him to a pediatric eye doctor but it's not a problem, just a little sad.
Yay we finished! And it was a good thing too because Davie had a bit of a melt down at the end :) Sorry Joy but thanks for the car ride we appreciated it.

Docapella Spring Concert 2012

Docapella had their annual spring concert this month and I can't believe it has already been a year since the last one! Crazzy.
It was pretty good, maybe not quite as fun as last year but only because I had already heard all of their songs. However it was nice to really be able to HEAR them haha not like at the zoo.
Here are my favorites from this year. I hope you enjoy them!
For the longest time
Star Wars

I feel like this song turned out REALLY great!
Love you David!
