Day #10- Friends

Toledo friends
Yesterday was another day that one particular blessing to be thankful for was not sticking out in my mind, until I went to a baby shower dessert night. After I got home from that I decided friends are good things to be thankful for :)

David and I have felt really lucky here in Toledo even with him being so busy lately we have managed to visit and meet one new set of friends, get to know some that we had from last year better and work on getting to know another couple as well. When you live as far away from family as we do you really enjoy the time you get to know people at church and the community that it creates for you. I don't know all the ladies in our ward but I feel like I could easily have a conversation with most of them and that is a good feeling.

Then of course you have the friends that we made in high school, college and all of our Idaho buddies. That is a lot of friends, thank goodness! If you are not pictured on here it's not because I don't love you :)
Had to post this picture, I think it's almost 10 years old!

Day #9- Agency

Today I am thankful for agency. I feel like it's something I have been thankful for a lot lately. Mostly because I have been choosing a lot things that are not really the "best" thing for me to be doing. Like today for instance, I chose to stay home and nap instead of going to my Math class. Instead of complaining that I have no self control or motivation I am going to be thankful that nobody MADE me go to Math when I did NOT want to. The nap I had this afternoon was just too good to feel bad about. So here's to agency, and may you and I both chose better tomorrow!

Day #8- Surprises

This one is going to be vague because I have a real post to put up after Thursday ends to better explain it. Yesterday I was thankful for the occasional surprises that come up in life that can be so fun. Everyone likes a bit of good fortune, which is really just a fancy word for, blessings you didn't know were coming. You know I'm right. Anyways until Thursday I'll leave you with my most recent happy surprise and that was last week when David brought me home these, just cuz :)

Day #7- My iPhone

Today and everyday I am thankful for my iPhone, it's pretty much the coolest thing that has ever happened to me (technologically speaking). It has saved my bacon so many times since I bought it, I can no longer count. I had to empty my bank account to buy it (and use every dime of my birthday money) but man, oh man, it has been so worth it. I can't even remember my life without it.
One instance happened recently at my second ultrasound. The nurse asked me if I had my insurance card on me and I didn't because I hadn't received my new student one in the mail yet. So while she continued to fill out paperwork I logged into the student insurance website and was able to take a picture of my information and show her. That right there saved me from having to file a claim, it was great!

Also I love to be able to look things up the second I think of them, or while I am in class. I can't tell you how often I find myself looking up words in the dictionary or thesaurus just because I can. It's definitely a fun tool for people who like to learn. Although I love the one I have I would kill just to have the camera on the 4S, 8 megapixels! My point and shoot only has 7, but that's ok because I have decided to ask Santa for a new camera this year instead of coveting the one on the 4S. Here's to the iPhone, I don't know where I'd be without ya :)

Day #6- Ice Cream

I have been having a difficult time trying to decide what to be thankful for today. A couple of reasons why- I'm not writing about any of these in order of importance, I have a million things to chose from and it's tough to pick and lastly I prefer for the thankful thing of the day to kind of come to me.

Today I am thankful for ice cream. The way I landed on that was I had it within an hour of coming home from church. It is one of my most favorite treats, which is a bit ironic because I tend to run on the cold side :) It is one of the few things that I almost NEVER turn down. I like just about every and any flavor as long as there is not mint chocolate or coconut in it. My love (obsession) for ice cream was directly inherited from my father and I like to eat mine the same way, with a little bit of milk stirred into it like a milkshake. You have to admit it is a versatile treat. Yup, today I was thankful for my big bowl of ice cream.
