Day #6- Ice Cream

I have been having a difficult time trying to decide what to be thankful for today. A couple of reasons why- I'm not writing about any of these in order of importance, I have a million things to chose from and it's tough to pick and lastly I prefer for the thankful thing of the day to kind of come to me.

Today I am thankful for ice cream. The way I landed on that was I had it within an hour of coming home from church. It is one of my most favorite treats, which is a bit ironic because I tend to run on the cold side :) It is one of the few things that I almost NEVER turn down. I like just about every and any flavor as long as there is not mint chocolate or coconut in it. My love (obsession) for ice cream was directly inherited from my father and I like to eat mine the same way, with a little bit of milk stirred into it like a milkshake. You have to admit it is a versatile treat. Yup, today I was thankful for my big bowl of ice cream.

After Hours

This is our bathroom
Last week David brushed his teeth we read our scriptures, prayed and he went to bed.
When he woke up the next morning this is what he saw...

after going to the bathroom he askes,"did you have trouble sleeping last night"?
What do you think?

Day #5- My Dad

Today I am thankful for my Dad. As I was trying to decide what to be thankful for on my blog today I realized I haven't written about him on here once. Not on Father's Day or his birthday... whoops! That is definitely my bad and should not be seen as a representation of my love and respect for my Father. So to make up for that I will probably write this post and then another one for his birthday.
Our family at my high school graduation.
This is a really sad picture in terms of quality but I have always felt that this face he is making is such a good example of him as a person.
Menacing picture he sent Suzy and I one Sunday morning when we decided to be late for sacrament meeting.
And this picture, well it is just great!
My Dad is really good at helping me, and others, decipher through their problems. He is never afraid of giving advice and while it is most definitely not always what the person wants to hear it always is full of truth. I am a very emotional person and over the years he has helped me in MANY situations by taking away the emotions of the situation to show me what was really going. As a teenage girl it is difficult to separate your "feelings" from reality but he could always help me figure things out.

He is honest, brutally at times but only because he cares. My dad sees in black and white and I have most definitely inherited that from him. One of the things he does that I love the most is wanting to help with specific wants in my life. I will openly admit that there have been many times when I wanted something and all I had to to was ask my Dad questions about it and Wah-lah, he would buy me what I was asking about. He researches everything not because he has to but because he likes to and because he wants to know more. I am thankful for his help and guidance in my life and I know that many of my cousins and family members are as well. I'll end it here so that I can write more on his birthday. Love you Dad!

Halloween Trunk or Treat

this is a horrible picture but it's the only one I have from the trunk or treat

David and I do not have any kids yet, therefore Halloween is still not really a holiday. My mother had to text me "happy halloween" before I even remembered what day it was. Thankfully we will have one next year, let the fun begin! Instead David and I end up just going to the trunk or treat not dressed up. I have to say once we met up with our friends there I felt our of place :)
This year after the trunk or treat we were able to go to a haunted corn maze with our friends. I have to admit the closer we got the more nervous I got. I was afraid I would get scared too much a do something un-cool like pee my pants (I'm in my third trimester now so I wouldn't put it past my body to let me down at a moment like that, haha). We all made it through and thankfully even though we did get scared a couple of times it wasn't so bad. I was actually surprised that they didn't have more people wandering around in the corn were it was super dark, but also very glad they didn't at the same time. Lastly I don't know what our aim was when we took these pictures but they are by definition a little scary, ok a lot.

Happy Halloween!

Boo!

Every year hundreds (if not thousands) of Mormon ladies decide they want to send out "Boo's" to their neighbors. This year I wanted to as well, even though I don't really like several of my neighbors because they are what you might call sour. Anyways to be nice I decided to go pick up some cookie mix and candy corns to wrap up and doorbell ditch to these neighbors. In the end I only managed to put one together in time to deliver it, life around here has just been way too busy. I Booed our busy body neighbor because I was pretty sure she would think that was fun.
This is a pumpkin roll that I did NOT make but was still tasty anyways. I decided to share with her because David didn't like it and I didn't need to eat it all by myself. She lives across the hall from us so after we rang her doorbell we watched her open the door from the peep hole, haha which was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I think it's safe to say that next year I will try to do this again to more than one person. It's sad because on Monday night David, not me, was the one who said "so I guess you aren't going to boo any of our other neighbors," no I guess not.
