Macy is One

I LOVE these baby blues. There is so much to say about our Miss Macy. For starters, I'm pretty disappointed in how little I posted about her in her first year. The part that matters, to me at least, is that I did photograph her monthly.
This little gal is a spit fire. She has so much in common with Davie! She never stops, she gets really mad when you tell her no and she gets even more mad if you make her snuggle.
This baby is an EATER! She out eats Davie almost everyday. She wants to try everything. Including dirt rocks, shoes and everything else she can get her hands on. I try to be a relaxed mom but when she is trying to eat, swallow and ultimately ingest everything she gets her hands on it makes life, for me, tougher. She's always got something in her mouth.
She has less hair then Davie did at this age, which makes my hairstylist self is sad. I mean I figured if I gave those little fuzzys on her head a year I'd be able to play with it. I can put her hair up in one little ponytail, but I don't do it very often because I'm worried it will break her soft baby hairs.
Macy also loves to dance. It doesn't take much, just a moderately good beat. When I sing silly little songs she will dance to them. Her groovy baby moves never cease to entertain. She is so cute.
Unlike Davie Macy does show love more, not that Davie doesn't, but Macy does it without making us beg for it (haha). The week we were in Florida Macy learned/started to give these super sweet tiny baby hugs. So when we got home she greeted us with little baby hugs around our necks! Ohhh my! These little hugs are heart melting (her dads words), we are eating them up.
By using kiddy chairs, stools and pillows this little gal has learned she can climb to new heights to get what she wants.
"Silly Mommy and Daddy, you can't keep things from me."
These pictures aren't as nice as Davie's, but the weather outside was yucky and our home here is not set up in a way that I would want pictures taken throughout their shared room or our disastrous (and also shared) bedroom.

Macy learned to walk on her own at about 11 months. She could have done it at 8 months, but thankfully she gave us a little more time to prepare for her mobility.
She really doesn't say many words. She can say Mama, has for a little while, but she only really says it when I'm leaving her in her bed. Thanks for the guilt trip girlfriend, I see how it is.
She also refuses to sign. Davie knew more words and signs by now then she does. I'd be worried but she is very calculating and I can tell she just doesn't want to. You can see it in her eyes!
"Yes I'd like more stop doing that weird thing with your hands and give me some!"
Da, is another word she has added recently. Not Daddy, not dada, Da. She does say it to David so we are pretty sure she knows what it means.
Speaking of Daddy. These two share a special love because of their food. It's pretty cute. Feeding Macy is so fun and easy so her daddy likes to enjoy meals with her. Just in case you were wondering, it's also very cute.
Macy LOVES to turn off the sound on the receiver, change inputs, turn the volume WAY up, or down when we watch movies. We thought she had stopped but this little habit has come back with vengeance this month. It is SOOO annoying!
Macy loves baby dolls. She gets this super sweet happy smile on her face and hugs them.
There is something about electrical sockets and other chords that attract her. It makes me crazy because there are so many things nowadays that need to be charged and I can't just move them.
She has the bugging brother routine down. She will go up to Davie and decide she wants, no NEEDS, one toy he is playing with and swipe it.
"Oh you wanted that? Oh well, it's mine now"
This tutu was a little big for her.
This bunny is from her great grandma and Macy is obsessed with it's ears. Usually she pays attention to anything with a face but she mostly loves the ears on this toy.
Yummy bunny.
Macy has discovered the toilet. Ugh. This is not something we had to worry about with Davie. I think Davie played in it like once? Maybe twice. Macy got in it twice just last week. Yuck!
Eating a bow... I think?
We pierced her ears at her pediatricians office at 6 months. No regrets. I love the little earrings on her. They look so sweet, healed super fast and like I said the poor girl has so little hair I feel that the earrings make up for that a little.
Just holding some baby toes
She LOVES to empty anything that is full of her diapers. If you come over to our house on a bad (meaning messy) day you will see clean diapers EVERY where. This also kind of drives us nuts.
"You can't stop this!"
This little gal is so fast, I feel like a get this view quite often.
Folding her arms is another new trick she started this last month.
Like all moms I find this irresistible and soooo sweet. As soon as my kids start wanting to pray or trying to be involved that's when my inner "I'm such a great mom!" shines.
got to have some naked baby photos.
She is obsessed with taking off her socks. ALWAYS. I remember Davie taking his off, but he was not nearly as dedicated as she is. Maddening. I mean she wants to walk everywhere, but it's so cold that not having socks or shoes on is just not realistic.
Putting a bow on. Fixing her hair at this time in her life requires me pinning her down to the ground with her arms at her sides and quickly pulling her hair into a single ponytail.
If you look it's not really that she doesn't have hair per-say, or that it's not long enough. From her ear to her front hair line, there's just baby fuzz that refuses to grow and meet the other hair she has managed to grow. Poor girl has inherited her mother and father's super deep hairlines :(
But that tiny little pony sure is cute.
Like I said she must attempt to eat anything she finds.
When she was about 5 months she started sticking her tongue out ALL the time. She still does it.
A good tongue hanging out smile is always cute.
She really wanted that camera.
As of this photo shoot she had no teeth. She has two and is cutting a third right now. That beats Davie by 2 months.
She also didn't want to pose or stay where we wanted her to (the light was best in this part of the room).
I love my baby.
This girl LOVES the stairs. Thank goodness for baby gates.
She likes to shake her head while she holds onto the railing. This has lead to some tears and bumps on her baby head.
See me climbing up the railing ma??!
She always goes down facing forward (insert scared mom face). We've tried to teach her the bum first method, but she doesn't care.
Face first is how I roll.
I decided to end this post with her funny little crouched on the stairs pic. Some times she will just hang out on the stairs like this. Looks relaxing enough right?? Anyways we love this little girl and all her trouble. She is so much more determined then Davie ever was and while it's tough to cage her in our tiny apartment we know it will serve her well one day.
We love you Macy.
