He's 2 1/2

Here is another update that must be made. My BABY is two and a half.... that can't possibly be, he only turned two 7 months ago.... oh.
A balloon guy made him a sword at Skyline Chili.
Davie is a crazy child, he's neither sassy or submissive, more like stubborn. Over the last couple of months his new favorite thing to do (especially when he is tired or hungry) is throw ridiculous fits over (insert ANYTHING) and no matter what our answer is he is crying. Yes. No. Yes. No.

Me- Davie do you want me to read a book
Davie- (crying and whining) no! I don't want to read a book
Me- Ok
Davie- NOOOO! I want to read a book!!
Me- Ok, lets pick one out
Davie- NOOOO!

repeat. REPEAT. repeat. x100

It drives us nuts.

He would easily take a late afternoon nap if I let him, but he would then stay up until midnight EVERY night. Not interested kiddo sorry.

He can get the mailbox open all by himself!
Davie also loves to watch Gnomeo and Juliet, which makes me super happy because it's an adorable movie and I LOVE it. Watching it reminds me of bringing him home from the hospital and watching it with my mama. He also now refers to the hot (red) and cold (blue) knobs on the sink as Gnomeo and Juliet. And he loves to talk about featherstone the "mingo" and say "whose your Gnomie now?" The movie received terrible reviews on rotten tomatoes so believe me it's great (no sarcasm, the critics hate all the movies I love and I would consider myself pretty picky).

He also loves to make deals using the same phrases I use. "mommy we can watch a movie and den eat. That sound good?" (imagine a super cute toddler voice going up at the end in imitation of their mommy)

 His very own "Normous" watermelon.
He's still obsessed with cars. All cars, always. That would be his Christiansen blood showing through.
The other day David and I were watching a movie and as the two main characters kissed I teasingly/flirt asked him if that made him want to kiss me like that at which point Davie yells "No!"
Hey now I wasn't even asking you!
He loves to tell me to not talk. Example
I am talking on the phone with someone in the car.
Davie- Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!
Me- What Davie?
Davie- Don't talk mommy, don't talk!
I was singing in the car the other day and Davie's reaction was "what's that noise?"

Davie the fish. He loves swimming.
Within the last week he has started saying "whatever". I'll admit he got that one from me, but I almost always say it in an exasperated way when I'm frustrated. Because of this when Davie uses this word he's usually not being sassy, or at least I don't think so, he's just saying it. For example He'll say "mommy I want juice.... whatever mommy" haha I don't think he's quite figured out how to use it yet. I probably shouldn't encourage him using this word but I can't do anything but laugh/chuckle when it comes out of my 2 year old.
When we went to the pool with David a few weeks ago two very young very pregnant girls, they couldn't have been more than 20, came in and took off their clothes to reveal bikinis. Brave souls. At which point Davie begins to point exclaim "BELLY BUTTONS, BELLY BUTTONS, BIIIGG BELLY BUTTON" (oh my goodness could you be any louder?!) The truth shall be told out of the mouths of babes, no? Thankfully, the pool was busy enough I'm pretty sure the girls didn't hear.

Davie opens, climbs and gets everything he is so smart. Not only that but most of the time neither David or I have taught  him. We always tell him to never wake up Macy or get into things so another one of his common phrases right now if we tell him no or not to do something is "Never, ever, ever, ever!"
My favorite moment recently (and one that is quite embarrassing on my part, you are just lucky I'm ok with self deprecating humor) was when I farted the other day and Davie says "Mommy you did an elephant fart?" Ok seriously it was nothing close to that and then he says "You did a BIG elephant fart??". Um, wow. So the next time you hear an elephant fart you can think of me (insert embarrassed emoticon face) Thank you Davie. Needless to say I was laughing super hard, I have no clue where he got that.

He is a pretty darn good big brother. If I had to name his biggest flaw that isn't age related (hello un-gentle toddler) it's that he LOVES to wake her up. We HATE it and we tell him no every time. One of the most common phrases in our house aside from "be gentle" is "we NEVER want you to wake Macy up EVER" Now you know where he gets the never ever.  We finally put his highchair away. I know he's super old for it, but the kid has never been a good eater (he's SLOWLY getting better) and that coupled with his inability to hold still made putting away the highchair one of the last things I wanted to do.

He fell asleep under this blanket on the floor. Such a silly boy when it comes to sleep.
Anyways he is currently potty training and has had a couple of accident free days! Wow, can I just say I am VERY pleasantly surprised.
Basically he is just a growing boy who cannot get enough life. I just hope I can keep up with him!

I LOVE his sleeping face. It melts my heart.
